I'm not very good with knowledge with laptops but I can definitely tell you NOT to rush with your purchase. One minute you think you have made a good buy and then you accidentally find a better laptop. However; get a PC; it's better than a laptop.

What you need to consider is the processor primarily. DO NOT get AMD. It should be i5 at least. Sorry I babble.

Purchase a laptop with at least Intel i5, not any of the AMD stuff.

Ok ok ok ok. I'm a big computer geek (Obvisouly) So I see no reason why you're all hating on AMD. I'm running (Upgraded from my 2ghz) AMD A8-quadcore 3.4ghz procssor

      Sorry internet shut off.
Ok back to what I was saying here. I've had my AMD for about 5 1/2 months before upgrading to a new one because I wanted my laptop to be faster. I've never had a problem and have been working with AMD for years. Every computer I've owned has had AMD and the only reason for replacement was SSD/HHD malfunction. I advise @Awrightgirl go with what she wants in her price range, no matter the brand AMD or Intel.

I've heard you can get this laptop for under $800, but I will leave you to search around for it :P
There has been fps tests with this laptop also, and it's said you can get around 50+ FPS on Mass Effect 3, which is much more detailed than Minecraft, So, I think you could get around 200 fps playing Minecraft with this.

To run Minecraft, with good fps. Minimum I would say, 4GB. But then you will also be wanting a good processing speed. I would say around 2GHz and above, you might get off with a 1.6GHz.

This is the mistake, People never pay attention to the Specs, that comp will get you 30fps at least. Btw, Laptops break down fast and are made cheap, Get a PC they are way faster/stronger and can be customized. As @UncleUrnesto said get -->http://www.walmart.com/ip/iBUYPOWER...e-and-Windows-7-Home-Premium-Monitor/35119954 It has descent specs at a low price.
