Attorney RankAn attorney is a lawyer for those who don't know. I am suggesting that players should have the rights to involve an attorney in a ban appeal. Most staff will definitely disagree with me though a lot of bans are incorrect, have no evidence or are bias with players while they suffer without a choice. If added, players will make use of their right to involve an attorney in their ban. Some players will abuse this privilege but that is all fine as long as the banner has evidence of ones actions. And of course the attorney will have the rights to decline a request from a banned player. Applying The attorney suggestion will only work if a rank is made to apply for. Doing so will decrease the chance of alternate accounts of infracted players, untrustworthy and player biased applicants. If a player is to be promoted to the "attorney rank", they will need to qualify for the following: Trustworthiness Experience with the rules of Mineverse An even mind Aim The aim of this suggestion is to protect players that have been banned unfairly. The bans can be from the server and forums, but all discussing will be done on the forums. Reasons / Advantages: Protection from no evidence. Protection from invalid evidence or claims.
I see what you are suggesting and know your heart is in the right place, but how do you think this should be carried out. I run a site and I can tell you there is no way to add a forum user to a Private'd thread. So if this were to get accepeted the appeals would have to be public. Meaning any member could post. Even those who are not the approved user. I'm interested in hearing your plan on execution. Also just to add, on the server I work for the banning mod has 24 hours to post his/her evidence or the player's appeal is automatically accepted and the player unbanned. I think that would be a great addition here.
Sounds way too complicated for me. Seems time consuming. May cause problems and arguments. I like the idea though.
I overall think this is a very intelligent, and great idea. However, I feel that this would be a little more time consuming than it has to be, and it seems a little complicated for, say players that are new to the reports system, to use. Overall, another brilliant idea by Mineterria, but almost too brilliant. I am going to stay neutral to this idea, good luck!
Attorney Rank / Perks 1. Attorney perks, being able to post and view ban appeals. 2. Applying for the perks, or a rank. 3. If the rank is added the player must be active and even between staff and player. Not sure about the "friend" option yet. I can understand what you are trying to do, but yes I do see flaws in it. These include the following; •faked evidence by attorney -the attorney (if not a staff member) could possibly fake evidence to save his client from something they both know he is guilty for. •doesn't work for everything -an attorney can't really do anything if the reason the client was banned happens to be chat related (as most of my reports are) such as advertising, and overwhelming language, or spambot even. •alt. attorney -the person who was banned could get an alternate account, and not say anything about it therefor, the person in question could defend himself, and leave everyone believing a lie, such as with issue one. I am neutral with this, though more leaning towards a disagree. It's a good idea, but it DOES have flaws.
