Alright, I'm just gonna take a wild guess and say you have a windows. If you have an iMac, I suggest you go on YouTube and look up how to do it. So the first thing you do is go to optifine.net: http://gyazo.com/4408826b98a6c99e7ce8d41d673bf3a2 Once entered, click the 'downloads' tab at the top left corner: http://gyazo.com/26246197c4099d823dc194ce9cf3ebb6 After doing so, there will be a ton of OptiFine downloads that you can choose from. The latest one is 1.8.0. I personally don't really care which one I pick, I just pick whatever. If you're using anything below 1.8.0, feel free to download that version: http://gyazo.com/97c50160e71626727d15f80990f5ab68 Note: Let's just say you play on 1.7.4. You can pick the OptiFine version for that particular launcher. I'm just gonna download the 1.8.0 as an example; so after clicking on whichever one you wanted to download, it'll bring you to this page: http://gyazo.com/b3c5c8395922897d6fc7b92cb98c5def I want you to ignore everything in the middle that says "Your download is ready!" or some similar like that. At the top right corner, it says "SKIP AD" all in caps. Pretty noticeable. Click it: http://gyazo.com/467360e678107ef5a1281090e17d6ed1 After clicking the "SKIP AD" button, it should bring you to this page with ads: http://gyazo.com/bc13dbbe3b88d1c8dc5d52e2566f9dd7 In the middle, it says "Download OptiFine" and the version that you picked: http://gyazo.com/6ddfadfed7e4224a37ea7c09ee05e46f Once clicked to download, it should ask you if you want to save it to you your folder/desktop/whatever. Click save: http://gyazo.com/89b9e34aab94b6721fd2470c8cfe6ca2 After you download it, it should have something at the bottom that looks like this: http://gyazo.com/ac2ee6e3a477dbd448d57f593c590695 Click on it, and it should ask you if you want to launch the OptiFine. Click install: http://gyazo.com/61b04ca723e080e8612e3a75fda8ff49 This is what should pop up: http://gyazo.com/5732e19c35c60edc9071eb70b5fc1489 Once you launch minecraft, it should say this: http://gyazo.com/a1b290eb46384f5bb9d0702be2809c93 If you have any questions, feel free to ask me! :3 I wrote this a while ago for @MaxNinja10 and he says it was helpful, so I thought this small guide would be helpful to you as well.
I highly recommend getting java if you haven't got it already, it allows Optifine to have a pop-up which installs it for you onto your Minecraft Launcher.
here is a simple version type optifine download and a download thing should pop up. As a secondary download WiNrAr. If it comes in a zip file open it on WiNrAr and type in your windows button %appdata%. Then you find .minecraft and hit versions and drag it in. (same way to download hacks btw ;) ). Another way it could happen is it can pop up in a program called Optifine 1.8 1_HD_U_C7 and it will say "this installer will install Optifine in the offical Minecraft launcher and will create a new " OptiFine" for it" pm me if u want a video on how to do it done. Btw this is only for Windows computers
Ok, i now have optifine. Thanks, now, if anyone knows how to dowload shaders, that would be awesome. @PandaBear__ @Vedrah
3283, download forge, it should download the same way as optifine then go to %appdata% and click .minecraft there should be a mods folder download optifine and shaders and drag them both into mods folder. Now load up minecraft and go to the forge profile it should be downloaded now.
