[Creative] Reason for removing water?

Hey. Sir_Brandon here. since the 1.8 creative update, water and lava was removed totally. Just wondering why it's been removed, or if it will come back (maybe flowing.)

I'm guessing either because it creates a lot of lag or it's a glitch with the 1.8 version, and hasn't been fixed yet.

 

I guess so too. I've noticed the already existing water on plots stayed. Just no more placing water.

 

It might be to limit griefing, but lag is a posibility. I'm a bit disappointed water is no longer placeable either

 

Does ice still work if you were to break the ice on top of a block?

 

Most likely to reduce tile/entity lag on Creative.
