I saw another thread on this, yes I am aware, but that one barely had anything to say, so I'll make another one, explaining why I would like it, etc. Allowing Titans to use /Nick. Hello everyone, I am Elite, and I am posting this thread, because I think it's an awesome suggestion - which would be a good suggestion - globally. What is /Nick? /Nick is a command, which gives players nicknames, colours etc. What will this do/What could it do? This will do nothing, only give a player nickname, to make them look better in chat, but when they're/other players are holding tab, there default name will be there, instead of their nickname that is displayed in chat. How will I know who is who in chat? My suggestion is to add /realname, whenever someone has a nickname, or anyone in general, you do /realname <Nickname/Player name> and it will reveal their display name. What will happen if I see/someone uses an inappropriate name? It will be a permanent ban from that server and the removal of the command from the banned player and only will be unbanned on approval of a ban appeal, but once the player is back in the game, he won't be able to do the command because of his mistake. Why would I want this to be added? I would like this to be added, because sometimes people [Including myself] don't like their current in-game name and too scared/worry to change it because of the 1.8.1 name changing, which will lead to them to loose their in-game stuff/ranks. I personally want it to be added because I highly dislike my current in-game name and I will not be changing it because of the rank losing etc. However, I would also like it to be added because it also gives you that "swegish" feeling because you have the ability to do /nick with all the colours and names that you people can think of. Could I use colours? In my opinion, I would choose yes, because they also make your name stand out in chat and it can draw attention to you if you need to talk to a mod, or anyone. Can Moderators have this even if they're not God/Titan? Of-course, because they are higher than anyone who plays, because they've earned the job of moderating the server. They will have the same colour allowances but they can have the random symbol and the underline, Titans cannot have that the random [k] and the underline [n] colour/symbol - apart from those two symbols, Titans/Mods can have all of the others. Can this cause drama? I'm pretty sure this will cause some form of teasing because of the command, but apart from that, I don't think so, because they can't take someone else's name because someone already will have it in use [the creator]. What are the rules to nickname? The rules, I think are easy to follow, because they're not hard. No impersonating - Warning > Temp-Ban > Permanent Ban+ Command Removal. No Teasing/any form of bullying via nicknames - Permanent Ban + Command Removal. Any rude/sexual names - Command Removal. The rules are easy to follow and not hard to obey. Mods got it taken away because they abused it. No one below the rank of admin will ever end up getting it again. I'm sorry, but it would be just be abused too much by the players.
As only Cyp and crew are able to mess around with buycraft perms, the command removal thing would be too overwhelming removing the command from every player that abuses it. This is to save both of their sanity. For now, no support.
hmm, but think about it, there are tonnes of god's and titan's. I wouldn't mind Titan's only having it.
i think this would be a fun command but i know it would be abused and even though it would be reportable i would rather mods be watching the server for hackers than looking at a dozen reports about rude nicknames which im almost positive would happen.
Think about it, there are more God's then any other donor's on the server. At least over 50% of the Gods would change their name, it'd be annoying.
