Welcome future Applicants: Here are a few tips to be a better moderator this may also help for moderator applications Hello Mineverse community members, I've noticed a lot of new applicants so I've decided to make this information thread for you who are wanting to apply. I encourage you to apply, we need moderators. If you want to become mod you should consider being: • Active ( This is one of THE most important points, if you can't be active you can't apply I'm sorry, right now the server is looking for active staff) • Mature (All the following proves maturity) • Honest (There's nothing wrong with having fun and being a little sarcastic but sometimes you have to be serious and honest) • Responsible (Take responsibility for your actions, appologize if you make a mistake for example) • Respectful (This does not mean don't speak up, when you know or think something's not right, speak up. Tell them your opinion, don't be scared) • Trustworthy (You need to be trustworthy, what you say is what you'll do but don't let people push you around) • Dedicated (Meaning you can spend time on the forums and server, help out players and have fun ) • Teachable (We're all humans and make mistakes but we learn from them, accept constructive criticism and when an older mod is trying to give you tips, listen.) • Considerate (It's nice to have considerate mods who think before they act ;) ) • Able to handle the pressure (Sometimes the Mineverse community may not like you at first but stand up for yourself, you can do it) • Dependable (Will you be able to accept tasks from people placed above you?) It's that simple. For those of you willing to apply, give it a shot! We need new recruits and if you don't get accepted, at least you tried. Accept constructive feed back, and stay positive. If you do get accepted I suggest you try and follow these but be yourself we don't want a robot we want you, a moderator who can help the community. If you can't put an effort into an application don't make one, this goes as to say follow the template (I suggest lots of detail on why you should become moderator and good grammar, people like that). Anyways good luck on the applications! Thank you for taking the time to read this. Give me constructive feedback on additions or subtractions or modifications for this thread. My intention is to get this thread pinned so I want as many opinions as possible. -Josh
I don't think so, I thought there was one needed considering what our staff team looks like right now.
No, requesting that you lock this. Each Moderator is a seperate person and will be treated as that, they're not robots programmed with good qualities in them like you made them out to be. If you really wanted to help I'd say make a post about encouraging people to apply but right now I don't like this thread, people are people, human, they will always think and act differently than one another and saying they must act a certain way to become a Moderator is just setting people up to be something they're not.
I'm not saying they should "act" I'm saying they should this is not rocket science, anyone can have these qualities and people can change
Alright is an untrustworthy unreaponsable immature person going to get mod because last time I was here it was a no unless that's changed.
Being a smartass isn't going to get you anywhere in life, so I suggest you stop. Here is the type of person I do not want to become a Moderator but probably will with these standards: A pushover who just obeys the rules and is afraid to give his own opinion about things, he is constantly questioning himself and being unstable in his position, leading him to make more mistakes than the average person. In time, this will do more damage than somebody who is promoted for being who they are, if you want to argue with that, go ahead, but I'm not here for an argument.
First off I never said not to be yourself, but if you can't be trusted that's not what we want. You can have an opinion and you can state that opinion. 2nd let's stop arguing
Seeing as you made the thread in the application section I can tell you're trying to get it pinned, if this is an official thread you shouldn't be going around telling people what they can and can't be, this will not help them in any way other than making them act differently than who they are and adding more stress to being a Moderator(If they're accepted, seeing as they'll probably just include all of this in their application.
I see your point, I'll change it up. Thanks for the feedback, and yes I'm trying to get it pinned, first I want to get opinions though.
I think this thread is pointless. We already have a moderator application template, why do we need one so similar? And also, why is this thread in the Moderator Applications section?
Alright thank you for your feedback, the reason I made it is because of those short apps that have little to bo detail and also for people to see what we look for in mods. I do see your point and I respect it.
