Diamond Chestplate doesn't fully show on the sign. will it still work??

Hold the EXACT item in your hand and type /iteminfo - This should show a number like "279#q" or something like that. On the bottom line of the item, write exactly what the item info number was. So for that item, on the bottom line I would write 279#q.
