Imagne this: A player has just created a profile on Mineverse.com and is ready to report offenders on the forum. All normal right? Or a younger person created his first forum profile (ever!) and has no idea where to go. Though some people create a Forum to chat with their friends, or send messages through Inbox. I could continue blabering about why people join the forum, but let's get to the point.People sometimes don't read (all) the rules. Simply they find it too much to read, or can't find where the rules are located at. Sure you could ask a moderator for assistance. Or is there another way? When I first joined the Forums I was luck to have experience in XenForo Forums. Thought to some, they're thinking holy sh*t what is all of this?? So why not send the New Members a little message? An email sent straight to their acount when they first join the forums. Welcoming them to the forum, advise them to make an introduction, link them to the basic locations like: •Discussion. •Suggestions. •Report. •Help. And so on, and so on. This would help the user understand more about the forum, and how it works. Also, I think we all love a nice Welcome message, don't we? My suggestion on how this would look like this: ============== Welcome [/name] to Mineverse.com! We hope you enjoy your time and respect the rules located here: [/link] Should you feel to report a rule offender, do so here: [/link] Have a suggestion on how to improve the server? Share it with us here: [/link] Think you want to discuss a subject with other users? Start one here: [/link] Thank you for reading this notification. Enjoy your time on the forum. Mineverse Staff. ------------------------------- I am positive that Cypriot will change the message (if accepted) but it is a simple way to make you understand how it might look like. Thank you for reading and as always, enjoy your time on Mineverse. Ares_Xena :t:
