Nope, I just went on the forums and had 40 alerts. That was my only indication. That, and the shiny moderator badge under my name.

Cyp will post in ur mod app and say something like (he usually says): Welcome to the team

Then you will have been promoted and you can Lock and Archive your own mod app

 

You'll definitly know if you've been promoted, one obvious give away is if you get a post from cyp in your app, he only comments in apps if they are accepted (majority of time) or if is copied from other person.
