STOP!!!!!! We are actually capable of doing our own jobs. We know how to moderate both on the forums and in server. We can't always be there, etc. Did a player not use a template in a ban appeal? PM them. Did this guy need a mod's attention fast? remind him in a PM how to tag mods for himself. There should never be any instances where you guys need to dictate things. This largely applies to ban appeals where you are not supposed to be posting anyways, but also to other things. Acting like a moderator WILL get you in trouble! We will warn your account and remove posts/threads with this kind of behavior. You people all seem to think that the staff needs to grow to be better and while new people help in game, on the forums having too many of us creates confusion. Those of you "helping" to show dedication and gain support for your own mod apps, it's hurting you. None of us want you to be a mod if you can't respect us while being a normal player. TL;DR? Stop posting things as if you were staff or as if you were trying to coach us.... And one more important point that I will temp/perm ban people for... NEVER tell a moderator how to do their job. We were chose to moderate for a reason, our judgments are final. Do you think you were wronged? Politely PM the moderator asking them to help you understand their reasons, or report it to other staff (once again politely) so that we can investigate the behavior of the staff in question. Thank you for your time, you may discuss this, but know that the statements above are final and law and real. Nothing you guys say can/will change that. Edit: Never seen so many positive ratings on a single post I've made. XD
Thanks Xel, I agree this needed to be reminded. Guys, we know you're just trying to help, but we can handle ourselves and you can help in other ways such as reporting players for us ect. Thanks for cooperating everyone.
Let's not point fingers.. It's directed to the players that did it, not who did it more than the other.
I'm glad this is getting good responses. You guys are really showing your maturity. A reminder is a good thing to call this. I'm not pointing any fingers myself, I'm not targeting or attacking anyone. This isn't designed as something to see shame from. If you are getting tagged, it's because you may need reminding. If you are finding this and realizing suddenly "Oh, I do that" then this reminder did it's task. You guys are all wonderful people at heart and the staff team loves you all! You've, as a collective, just become a bit too outgoing in your actions. ~_^ Hopefully this will quell those issues.
Also.. tagging moderators for a "faster response".... nope. Don't do it. I for one have tags disabled. I don't want that spam crap. There doesn't need to be a faster response. Especially in a ban appeal. The player broke the rules, they can wait a few hours. You're not going to learn anything if you are immediately unbanned. Being kept away from the game you love will teach a better lesson. I already do and will continue to give out warning points to everyone that posts where they shouldn't. To you, it may seem like you are helping, but you are actually hurting. Instead of being able to respond to a ban appeal I now have to go in, administer warning points, write the message and delete the comment. Stack that up by a ton of people and that is wasted time I could have spent in game moderating more or working on more reports. In the end... we've got this. We can handle it. We know you want to help and we admire that, but like Xel said, PM the player or help in game. Sorry if you feel I am being harsh but this has been happening too much lately. Thanks for understanding. :cp:
