I like to stalk the report forums and i see all the people who screenshot people who they say are hacking. The problem is that its one photo compared to a video one photo is usually not enough evidence most people banned by screenshot evidence are usually not hackers. Like i saw a report on infection where there is an area where u can get hit too and that's the only way without hacks to get to the location and all those players get banned. sorry for the little rant. HERE'S MY RECOMMENDATION. Change the format for how people report they can report scams and swearing in screenshots but hacks should be recorded using a screen recorder. I know alot of people don't have good internet or computers i dont, but i believe if your going to report a hacker then u should record them and not screenshot. If some one says i can't get a screenrecorder due to not having money u can point them into the direction of bandicam and fraps both free and record in good quality. If the player says i'm on a mac then they have a screenrecorder on quicktime.
if you read the whole suggestion i said that the staff can lead people to free software to record the hackers.
It sounds like a great idea but like you said, some players don't have powerful computers that can handle recording. Screenshots are good for reporting players that swear or say inappropriate stuff.
yeah but i'm not on the greatest computer i'm on a cheap 200 dollar stock and i can get mine to record in 720p. and screenshots are perfectly fine for that kind of stuff its just annoying when they use screenshots to record hacks. Usually if you see them hacking some one else does also.
Which location on the infection? I've been playing infection for almost a year now and I know all the glide locations
Screenshots can sometimes catch some hacks like rapid fire users and certain spots on infection that require glide. Yes, I know what you are trying to say, but screenshots can be handy sometimes
Videos are a better way of recording hackers, but screenshots are very useful for some hacks, e.g Glide and Spider, which enable people to reach normally impossible places, so one screenshot is enough for proof of that. And as stated above, some people's computers can't handle recording, so screenshots are the only other way to report hackers besides that. (My computer is one example, whenever I try to record my fps goes down to an nearly unplayable amount.)
Before on my old pc I couldn't record whatsoever, it would make it freeze. So on behalf of those with "not so good pcs" I do not support this idea.
I support and I don't support. In infection, screenshots can catch glide hackers by simple knowledge of how far a person can jump with certain variables and the rate of time a person falls, which can be caught in a series of screenshots. Usually people still insist there are 'fly' hackers in infection, which is impossible so that's automatically dismissed as render lag. I do agree that when hacks go more into the pvp section like aim-bot and kill aura, there should be video evidence, because one screenshot doesn't give the full picture, since there can be multiple people attacking the same person, the speed at which one get's hit, and how quick the suspected hacker turns is something a screenshot can't pick up. I have a mac and i can't get a recording software because my parents have a lock on the computer to which i need to get the password to download anything off the internet, and the recording software in the app store doesn't work or doesn't produce high quality videos. Screenshots can prove if someone has hacks, so cutting them out of the evidence loop automatically decreases the amount of people who can report hackers, which could be detrimental to the server.
Well how about the people that have a pc that is cannot run any recording software? then what do they do? sit idle?
Um, Maybe Her Mac Didn't come with it! Not all of them are the same. Screenshots are perfectly fine in some cases and in some situations , they are just plain terrible! But since your doing this because people are "getting banned with no proof" then why don't YOU submit a moderator application and "fix " this rather than creating more problems by removing screenshoting as a valid form of proof to ban!
There is always the possibility that her parents deleted it, or It got uninstalled. And don't evade my point-> Screenshots are perfectly fine in some cases and in some situations , they are just plain terrible! 1. i'm not going to apply for mod mods can't fix anything. 2. all she has to do is have her parents go to the app store and reinstall if it got uninstalled/deleted. The program comes with the computer. All i'm saying is there should be other ways to catch hackers than screenshots.
