This is a very simple one. End crystals, in my opinion, have two main uses; respawning the dragon, and as a decoration block. Neither of these require their overpowered instant-kill ability. It is not uncommon to see people complaining about being 'tp-killed' by crystals on survival, a player died to it just today while I was on, and I too was killed just a few days back. Sadly, unless you've; experienced it before, or are expecting it, you won't be recording, thus you're unlikely to get any help from staff as there isn't clear evidence without further investigation. This is especially true for newer players, so I believe removing crystal damage will be beneficial in maintaining a successful retention rate. The only genuine use I can see for the damage end crystals give is during actual pvp, in which both users have /pvp enabled, though it's really not the type of weapon used on a survival server. If it's really necessary, make it toggle-able much as pvp is, or even better yet, integrate immunity into /pvp off. (If you really must use crystals for pvp, may I suggest checking out our sister server where you can crystal aura to your hearts content :t:!) I believe the time saved by staff as a result of implementing this would be significant (as would the easing of mine & many others' minds) and would in my opinion justify the effort/time taken to add it. @GGs requested tag
Support. Yea, a lot of people tp-trap with the crystals the damage taken from them should be removed.
Support, survival's pretty dead but if it becomes less dead then people with malicious intentions wouldn't be able to cause so many problems.
it's a PVE server with the option to enable pvp with friends, with crystals, you're able to bypass this pvp block, essentially making it useless. this isn't supposed to be possible. bump
Maybe in order to prevent killing with crystals the devs could set it so that the damage dealt to people other than whoever sets it off is disabled unless both have pvp on? That would cover for whoever actually pvps in survival and prevents people from using them to tp trap since it wouldn't do anything unless they have pvp on, which most people don't.
bump I think this a good solution, and not overly difficult to implement. if you haven't already, please check out my other suggestion c:
