How is there staff that are staff but they do not play personally I play everyday for 6+ hours Ign Rainingnights
Some staff are on break and some aren’t on due to diff timezones you can check which staff are on break or not in the mv discord. But yeah I do get there some staff members which haven’t logged in days or even weeks but that’s not my call to make.
Getting on different times, morning, noon, and night. Stay on for 1-9 hours, and I see MAX 3 staff. I see them active on the actual website all the time though, so I don't know.
I often see Janice though, I'll get on at 8 to clock in, stay on for a few hours, come back on with you at around 12 and stay on from there, and I see max 3-5 staff members. Janice is one of them, can't name a few more. It's usually different staff members but I don't know. Maybe with school back in session and everything people are less inactive?
Most staff also have exams for school, it’s that time of year so most could just be taking some time Off for that too.
That's true. I'm hoping things go back to normal and staff can be online (In game) instead of just the website. That way, staff can help a lot easier with things that need to be tended too.
theres a lot more to being on the staff team than just being ingame, they have to log their bans, reply to reports on forums, be active on the other platforms (forums&discord) among many other things. the reason higher up staff (such as admins and head mods) aren't as active in game is because their responsibilities lie in the more administrative roles, such as managing the staff, resolving support tickets and handling staff reports. Not to mention the preparation it takes to create new gamemodes / make changes to current ones, the testing and adding of the plugins etc etc. though it may look like it to some players as staff being inactive, I can assure you there's a lot that goes on that we dont necessarily know about ;)
Ah ok, so there's more that happens behind the scenes that aren't necessarily in game. That makes sense, especially the logging things and running the server.
It could also just be because of timezones too because I know quite a few staff members live in timezones which are many hours ahead/behind the majority of people
Different timezones mainly can be why you don't see some staff, if a staff isn't online for a long period of time they are most likely on inactivity leave(aka they are busy irl so they can't play as much) because you have to remember that we aren't paid to be staff it's just us dedicating what free time we have to help out the server etc.just my opinion on this
Now i see where all my Yea, I see why staff aren't active. Between irl jobs, school, exams, pandemic, and timezones, it all just depends.
Inactive staff have been a big problem on this server since long ago. The server has been alive for so long, so you can expect different waves of old staff and new staff with different schedules. Some of the long-time staff members, Janice, Kinsey or Quertiss, all have been staff on the server for or nearly 3 years+. They have definitely expanded their schedules since the first time they applied for staff, therefore you can expect activity to increase or drop accordingly. Either way, inactivity is normal for Minecraft servers, nothing can be done about it.
