Implemented (Cosmetic) Custom Death Messages

So i've been playing a lot of hypickle and what you can get once you have enough coins / unlock certain ranks is custom death messages, such as:



My suggestion:

I think it would be pretty cool how like with /trails on the SpacePrison server, where different trails are unlocked with different ranks, ranked players on OP PvP could customize their death messages when they kill someone. Of course they would have to be pre-made to avoid any bypasses / rude messages, and the menu in which people could choose their messages would be similar to that of the /trails menu.

I think this would be a fun cosmetic addition to the gamemode, not of much importance but would just be a nice little add-on, and a change from the simple "slain" message:


Additionally, death messages could stand to be a bit more colourful, perhaps with the players rank colour showing in their name on the death message, just to stand out a bit more.

I understand where you're coming from, but the death messages would be pre-made and decided so people have a selection to choose from, rather than writing them themselves. If it were only their names shown as the colour of their rank, it would look neater and more presentable than the current plain red death messages because people can see clearly who killed who rather than just a line of red text.

I think you misunderstood what i'm suggesting, I'm saying that people would choose between pre-made custom death messages much like the /trails plugin menu on spaceprison, the higher the rank the more choice they have.

The colours would not be customizable, and would just be their rank colour instead of just a line of red text.

e.g;

Margarin was slain by Sa_Sa_Sabrina

or to add a custom death message like the ones on hypickle;

Margarin was given the cold shoulder by Sa_Sa_Sabrina

Nah this is exploitable if you can come up with the middle text yourself. What if I make it something stupid like:

goku4000 just bought pizza for Noobcrew

Or i could troll people by acting like i took their /coinflip money with:

goku4000 won a 100$ /cf bet against Noobcrew

Also you can make it explicit like this:

goku4000 just had s*x with e_girl2000

Overall its a bad move, and will be confusing for new players

 

I don’t think you saw my point about it being a selection of premade death messages, the player won’t be able to come up with them themselves.

they will choose from pre made and approved death messages, much like the /trails plugin on spaceprison. there will be no way to exploit it as it isn’t completely customisable.

they will get more options of death message types by having a higher rank, like the /trails plugin

also i don’t know if you’ve played hypickle but it’s the same there, you can’t type your own message but you can select a custom message from pre approved ones.

 

No support, I'd hate to be doing the epic PvP-slaughter-gang-12millioncps combo on someone, and then I get distracted by a death message that's stupid/cringe. Even if they are pre-approved messages, they'd soon get as boring & old as the current default ones, making this redundant.

 

everything gets old eventually, look how quickly spaceprison burned out. of course things need to be constantly changing and updating to avoid it getting old, I just think this would be a neat little addition. perhaps if it does get implemented, there could be new messages added over time, for example seasonal (christmas, halloween etc) or just completely new ones for each ranks. Players could even unlock them in crates. the possibilities are endless, and I know this is just a small cosmetic addition, and everything "gets old" eventually, it would be nice for the moment.
