So I’ve been thinking about this lately and I’d like to know to what y’all think about this. I know skyblock has their own system of promotion where the person/s getting promoted receive the helper rank for alittle but until they are promoted to regular mods. I think it would be cool and more organized for mineverse to have something similar to this. Once again I’m not saying mineverse should change their current method of promoting people but I’d like to see what players/staff have to say about this.
Ehh not really a fan of the idea. As most people know every new mod will go through 2 weeks of being with their mentor and learning the ropes of being a staff member. However, Mineverse is different to skyblock. Most trial staff ranks come with limited perms so if a trial mod saw someone hacking or breaking a rule tjat they didn't have perms to handle this they would have to wait for a full mod to come online, which could be a long time if they're in a different timezone.
To be frank, I like the sound of this but I'm not sure how it'd affect the staff and the server. It could be introduced as trial mod, similar to Helpers on Skyblock. They'd have the permission to tempmute, warn, kick and have other moderator commands. They wouldn't have access to tempban, ban or mute. It'd basically be them being evaluated on how they are on the server and they'd be promoted to moderator as well. This will also introduce new promotions and have mods able to help them out with simple commands. They won't have access to lots of perms so they will have a lower chance at messing up. I'm in full support on the idea because this would be good for players and give staff a new chance to teach them.
While skyblock only has two main servers which means that there can be more staff on at once to assist the helpers, Mineverse has several gamemodes that issues could be caused on and people not be on to anything besides helpers/trial mods. It's better to keep people as a full mod and demote them compared to letting the server get out of hand because a helper/trial mod can't do anything about it.
I think it could work but I don't think it would be as efficient as it is on Skyblock. Unlike Skyblock, Mineverse tends to get many reports that result in an instant ban. Trial ranks wouldn't be able to help with this if ban perms are not given and so it would most likely just get left for mods+ to deal with. If they were to be given ban perms, I don't see a reason why the rank would be needed in the first place.
Fair thanks yeah I get your point thanks good point fair thank you Also @Swift @gabby @Porky if you’d read what I said in bold I’m not suggesting that this should be implemented lmao I’d just like to hear feedback
i think there shouldn't even be mods. this place should just become anarchy, 2b2t style cuz authority sucks. honestly there only really needs to be 5 mods max and maybe a staff manager and a few admins at this point. the server isn't nearly as big as it was to warrant more staff divisions. there used to be a requirement that staff could only mod two servers to begin with before being promoted to global for trial; however this became a problem with more active mods moderating less active servers, and the inability to work effectively between servers. some mods had responsibility over 100 reports between four mods, and then youd have 8 mods not having any reports to do. it was like this like every day for 6 months: basically just unnecessary at this point. maybe in late 2014 it would have made sense when the mod team had 20-30+ members, but anthony didnt like the idea anyways at the time and neither did crew so it died out.
