Support, axe pvp go swing swing haha

but also, i may be dumb for saying this but it might expand the skill gap so like you need to know how much dura axes deal for example

Axe pvp finna be lit lit lmao

But nah your not dumb man, you actually bring up a rather fair point which hasn't been discussed much on this thread, so I commend you for the outside the box thinking. I 110% agree that by implementing this change, the skill gap will in turn be widened, but there is more to it than just knowing how much damage your doing. By making this change, you are adding a weapon with a completely different dynamic than the sword. Despite the fact that both of these weapons have pros and cons which will sway a player in either direction depending on their playstyle, they both (s35/s40 sword and axe), if balanced correctly, have ample opportunity to be lethal IN THE RIGHT HANDS. So, for the first time, mineverse players will have the opportunity to CHOOSE which weapon THEY prefer and believe they will have more FUN with and be more successful with. Ty for the support m8!

Support and it will be more nicer to see less items blocking in your view because the swords have the length and axes don't.

Axes only break armour faster if the server has mcmmo.

The sharpness 40 swords do 9 points of armour damage per hit. A sharpness 40 axe will also do 9 points of armour damage. Well, they should do 9.6 and 9.4 respectively but during durability loss calculation it always rounds it down the nearest whole number.
      Diamond sword damage: 7
      Diamond axe damage: 6
      How sharpness is calculated: 0.5 * (level - 1 ) + 1

      Sharpness 40 does: 41 points of damage on top of whatever damage the item does. (0.5 * (40 - 1 ) + 1 =20.5 hearts. 20.5*2 = 41.)
Diamond sword with s40 damage: 48
Diamond axe with s40 damage: 47

A full set of diamond armour absorbs 80% of income damage that it protects from.

Diamond armour will absorb 38.4 damage from a s40 diamond sword. (48*0.8)
Diamond armour will absorb 37.8 damage from a s40 diamond axe. (47*0.8)

For every 4 points of damage, it absorbs it will do 1 point of durability loss to every armour piece you are wearing.

9.6 durability will be lost due to a s40 diamond sword
9.4 durability will be lost due to a s40 diamond axe

However, this is instantly rounded down to a whole number. (9)

Conclusion s40 diamond axes and swords do the same amount of armour damage per hit.

Unbreaking 3 gives the armour a 30% chance it will ignore all durability loss per hit. It doesn't affect the actual durability loss at all, just the chance it is ignored completely.
Protection doesn't affect armour durability loss at all.

I genuinely appreciate your feedback as I had planned to test these numbers my self at some point lmao. However, I did test the durability dmg per hit with an s15 sword and s15 axe, finding that it was the same. This is why I suggest that if the dura dmg per bit of axes can be SLIGHTLY increase without implementing MCMMO, then that would be ideal

If axes were given way too much of a durability damage increase, then yes, this would have the potential to be really over powered. However, as of right now, an axe and a sword of the same sharpness do the same durability damager per hit with swords doing more HP damage per hit and having the ability to block hit. So, in the current state, using an axe would only put you at a disadvantage. But with the right balance changes, I believe both weapons have the potential to be a FUN and VIABLE option to use in PvP.

I appreciate your feedback. I always love to hear the opposing point of view. And welcome to the mineverse community! I hope you find yourself having a fun and interactive experience! Let me know if you have any questions about this suggestion or the server/forums in general.
