Support, however to make axes more valuable (since the good axes are only in crates) remove s40 swords. This would allow axes to compete with s35 swords without the armor shredding capabilities of s40s.
This is not a bad way to combat the balance issues which may occur when discussing the idea of implementing high sharpness axes, however, I have a different approach if you are willing to hear me out. As of right now, an s25 axe (max sharp atm) does the same durability damage as an s25 sword on OP. So, If higher sharp axes (with NO kb) were added, s30, s35, and s40 for example, to equal sword sharpness enchants, you would be putting yourself at a disadvantage because swords would not only do more hp dmg per hit while doing the same durability damage as an axe, swords would also have the ability to block hit while axes do not. In this case, you would be putting yourself at a disadvantage in 2 different ways. With that being said, I suggest that s35 and s40 swords stay exactly the way they are right now doing more hp dmg per hit and being able to block hit. For axes, in order to offer another *VIABLE* weapon option for pvpers to choose from, thus appealing to a wider player base pvp wise, I suggest that with s35 and s40 axes, they will do a tad bit more durability dmg per hit, not so much that it makes them OP af, but enough to where it is noticeable so sword users can still compete at high level and be very successful when using an s35 or s40 sword against its axe counterpart. Obviously, despite the fact that I believe this is a good solution for balancing and that there would be a lot more good than bad coming from these changes, these suggestions are what would occur in my perfect world, so some of this might not be realistic. That being said, at the bare minimum, adding higher sharp axes with no kb, even though u might be at a disadvantage, would make me very happy. Damn lmao I didn't realize how long I made that response, I was going ham. This is something that is very important to me so pardon my passion for the topic. Ty!
This is a good idea but the problem is that sharp 40s and potentially s40 axes are too easy to get. The market would end up flooded with them (as it is now) and make pvp generally unfun. When s30s were the strongest swords, they made fights last longer than 5 minutes and it wasn't a Russian roulette of whether or not 2 pieces will pop instantly.
I see where your coming from and to be honest I agree, but me personally, I like how when I combo someone with an s40, it pays off by me shredding their armor, allowing me to kill them quickly (sometimes). I don't like being in really long fights and having to rely on luck (who has 2 pieces pop first) to win the fight, I feel like it should be won on skill. So, I would prefer the s40 to stay in the game, but if worst comes to worst, at least keep the s35.
You did indeed support this thread already, but the additional support for sure wont go unnoticed, thank you!
