Okay so where do I start with this.. Skywars.. I've been playing skywars.com for about 3-4 years now. What do I think? Unmaintained, no staff, bad anti cheat, no updates, there's a whole list. Like the Skywars server isn't cared about at all. It doesn't even have it's own thread prefix, that's how bad it is.

The Anti cheat:
Lets start off with the Anti cheat. An old anti cheat (NoCheatPlus). There's much much better ones our there. Earlier I had someone bridge, walking forward, hit me and completely destroyed the living world out of me. get something like Veerus which is $80 - $160 or even Matrix (Which is a very good AC) and is $20. Both those anti cheats kicks and detects people which will just remove all these hackers.

Unmaintained Server
So I've been playing Skywars for around 3-4 years now. And if I had a question around the lines of "One word to describe the server" it would be unmaintained. Not enough development is being put into this server at all. There's bugs everywhere. Every legitimate player has had enough of these hackers. Its a great little community, amazing people, some good staff (when they're on) but it needs maintaining a lot more.

Under Staffed:
There's seriously no staff on here ever. We need some sort of proxy command like a /report command that gets sent to all staff on the proxy so when there's a hacker it gets to the staff and they go ban them. I've only ever seen around 3-4 staff on. Porky & Acception being the main ones. They're great people, brilliant staff, but they can't do it by them selves. I my self own a rather big network, as I tried to buy out Skywars... (didn't go well), and I know that the main thing is you need Happy, motivated and good staff. The staff are good and (from what I've seen) motivated. We just need more to focus on your other servers.

Builds/Maps:
So not so long ago, there were some new maps included into the server. I thought, okay that's really cool. However, a lot of the newer, bigger in area maps just lead to 15 minute games. We don't want a Hypixel based super quick games, but we do not want games to last so long. These bigger maps ruin it and a lot of people just /sw leave the bigger maps. There's this one nether/lava based map. And it needs removing, that's it. When ever I load into one of those maps , not always, but often, someone will say "I hate this map" "this map is aids" or something along those lines. And I fully agree with them. It's a really bad map, the middle is full of lava. I think instead of removing the map, you fix up the middle. Maybe make it's no so big, and it's a lot flatter. Also, some maps need to be bought in a little closer, like they're too far away. Lastly, we need a new lobby... As much as it's not important, it's old, we need a change.

Advertisers
This is so sad to see. A lot of people love to advertise in the main lobby. It fully can go on for 20 minutes to an hour some times. The server needs to upgrade the chat plugins. They're useless, like people can spam and just add an extra letter to the end and it wont get recognized. This is another one of those easily fixable, little things which is a big problem.

Bugs
There's a lot of bugs. Everyone hates all these little bugs which could be so easily fixed. I would love to sit with a development team for a week and fix them and get the plugin in a better place. It's not too bad (the amount of bugs) but the ones that there are, are really annoying. I would love to sit with a development/ tester team or what ever you guys got and fix all these little problems.

LAST NOTE::::::
I don't mean to cause offence to the server, staff or the owner. I respect everyone here and it's a great little community. We just want changes. All these things can be fixable, it would be nice to see new lobbies, remove the bad maps, add better maps (that aren't really big, slow-paced games). I just wanted to spread the word at how much of a good community it is on the Skywars server and that (personally) changed need to be made. Did you play skywars off of mineverse or did you directly go to skywars.com?
Anyways, here are my opinions on this thread...

ANTI CHEAT:

So basically yeah I'd agree the anti cheat isn't very good at all, always finding people using obvious hacks and the anti cheat doesn't do anything about it. there's basically no anti cheat at all. But from what I know, MV can't do anything about it because it is not MV's server, we are only connected to the skywars.com server.


"UNMAINTAINED SERVER":

I don't really agree with this, anytime I make a report, it is always dealt with (at least on mineverse' side, not sure about what it's like on skywars' side though). i would say the server definetlely needs updates, I wouldn't say "unmaintained" would be the word for it.


UNDER STAFFED:

Yeah there is never any staff on skywars, at least not from what I've seen. But the staff (again, on mv's side of the server) normally take care of things when it comes to reports. The particular reason of why there is never any staff actually playing skywars is because the other servers have loads of cheaters too (like op or kit), mainly PvP servers. Although I guess you could say skywars is a PvP server too. But yes you're right, we need more staff actually on the server, not just dealing with reports.


BUILDS/MAPS:

Yes, there definitely needs to be some new maps, the ones today have been around for years, only some of them are new. I guess is lack of skywars players actually wanting to make a map themselves, thing's like that take lots of work that most aren't willing to put time into, they'd rather play the game. Yeah they should for sure remove the map with all the lava, can't even do anything without watching where you step cause you might accidentally step in lava.


ADVERTISERS:

There really has to be a new chat filter, always seeing advertisers and it's super annoying, also spammers. I'd say to completely block people using sites that aren't allowed, The only ones that are allowed are youtube, twitch and mineverse websites (such as shop.mineverse.com or the forums). Although this might take awhile to implement, it'd definitely be worth the time.

BUGS:

I really don't notice any bugs on the server, most likely an internet problem you have. Although I do see some minor glitches that could be fixed pretty easily.

So there's your full rundown of my opinion, overall I'm going to say Support.

 

There's usually more staff on Skywars most of the time, we're either in vanish or we just have different timezones/schedules.

I would say Mineverse is actually more under staffed than Skywars. I wouldn't mind a /report command though - it'd make things slightly easier for us.

Support.

 

Thanks for the response. Try logging on on other MC versions. You can't move a single block. One bug is that when you jump into the portal, sometimes you go into a game that's finished. Surely this has happened to you, right?

Thank you for the support. I was speaking to Sando a lot last night. It would really benefit Skywars if it was moved onto Mineverse's bungee and taken off Skyblock's bungee. Would help heaps with some of the lag aswell!

 

I disagree with this point. When was the last time you saw Skywars in a Minerverse change log? A very long time ago. The mode is unmaintained and could really do with some big fixes, a new anti cheat, remove the bad maps (nether/lava one and maybe the one with a glass sphere in the middle).

 

Fully agree with you. But your the first person i've seen that likes that map haha

 

Support. I mean as long as I can start pvping again without getting kicked about 10 times. Then called a cheater right after I was kicked for Killaura I would be extremely happy

 

It is owned by the same guy, it's on a different proxy. Skywars.com uses AAC which just isn't good enough for newer, up-to-date/Modern hacked clients.

The anti cheat doesn't kick people that build walking forward and hit me the same time AND people that have 100% Anti knockback lmao

 

I agree people can blatantly cheat and not get kicked and I can't play the game legit :rolleyes:

 

And maybe remove some or edit them?
