Me and many other people would agree certian people closet cheat on OP. My suggestion is to teach moderators how to detect autoclicker, reach and other less harmful cheats. This is because these people toggle all the time in PVP. I see moderators typically only ban blatant cheaters.
I'm not sure if this is still applicable but a few months ago at least some of the mods were told not to ban for reach, presumably because noobcrew/janice knows the latency makes people seem very sketchy
If we do this, a question arrives. Do we ban many more hackers, but at the same raise the chance of being unfairly banned?
If I'm playing on Mineverse, I'm recording 24/7. I understand that some people may not be able to do this, but if you can, do it. You can easily prove that you weren't hacking if you get falsely banned.
It seems odd for the server dynamic to be that you will be banned, even if it was a false ban, if you weren't recording.
^ amazing point honestly alot of people can argue that its the server being laggy or us/them being laggy which would cause an "invalid ban" leading to people being unhappy. And also autoclickers are harder to detect as well as reach if the player tones it down and uses speed 2
I've been falsely banned 7 times for hacking. I'd rather not have the same happen to other people. If you're so certain someone is cheating then report them with valid evidence. Show tab and make sure you don't create a scenario where it's easy to argue for the evidence being invalid such as walking backwards. If you have no response to Porky's comment on how we'd go about to implement your suggestion I'll close this. To me this just seems like you're unhappy because some individuals you believe cheat killed you and you have no evidence to back it up. If you can't get evidence, why would it be any different for us? Either way, people shouldn't be banned without proper evidence.
how about this, myself and a few of my friends openly cheat. we use blatant clients that can easily be found a in a screenshare but nobody can prove it because we use low settings. @Boobalyboo also cheats pretty much every day with either liquidbounce or autoclicker and heal macros on badlion client. she'll admit to this just as I admit to cheating because the dumb system mineverse uses requires evidence to ban known cheaters. if you would just ss sketchy players there'd be a lot less closet cheaters on mineverse.
Screensharing would be considered evidence IF we were allowed to screenshare. Feel free to make a suggestion or bump an existing one if you want this. If you feel like confessing to hacking should be bannable, then suggest that. This suggestion is however about teaching us how to ban closet cheaters with how the system is now. If he can't mention any ways this would be done then I'll close this. Letting us screenshare would be a potential answer to the question, but would fit better as an own suggestion.
Rent's been working his butt off ever since he got that role. I think he deserves recognition more than anyone right now. I haven't seen atombow in like 7 years and the only other mods I've seen online other than Rent are DiggyDiggs and porky. I only ever see Vem on Kitpvp and the rest of the mods are gone, but of course everyone has a different schedule.
yes he is definitely the only one that responds to me you are so right. i've never met anyone this right in my life
In which way is it just "unnecessary" or not "accurate" . Clients can be easily found with screen sharing tools in which crew can invest to, if you Moderators complain about it taking "too long" even though you moderators write about your dedication in your applications. EDIT: Also I would like to add that most people on mineverse dont use clients that are non detectable even a 2 minute screenshare can prove if someone is cheating or not.
And there are methods to hide clients from screensharing tools and I guarantee many hackers would start to use them if they found out we were doing ss. We tend to get a lot of closet cheaters right more than you realise. And if we get them wrong, okay we made a mistake. Just seems like a waste of time to try ssing when we really don't have to.
Screen sharing is something extra that will benefit the server HUGELY. the only clients I know of that can bypass a screen share are mostly premium clients that cost money. not all hackers can just buy a client. Screen sharing is something a pvp-based server needs in order to stop cheaters/hackers. And these mistakes can also be prevented if you do ss, a 30 day ban to someone who is false banned is really sad.
What you have to understand with that is that a lot of the hackers we face are actually the same person on about 5 million alts, and they do have a premium client. When we ban a closet cheater its not like we just do it straight up, we consult with other mods before coming to an opinion so it's rarely one mod acting by themself. I've said all I need to say and I'm sticking to my opinion here but I respect yours nonetheless.
