Hey everyone, I'm making this thread to give my opinion on two of the rules on the server and how I think they should change it to make the better a less toxic and more happy place. So basically, I play OP PvP and it's very toxic. Doxing/DDoSing related wise. I think the server should edit the DDoSing/Doxing rule. I personally think it should be a permanent IP blacklist instead of a 14 day ban. DDoSing is extremely illegal and Doxing is classed as illegal in some countries.

I am making this because it'll make the server a better place if people know that if they do anything that is Doxing Or DDoSing related, it'd be a blacklist. Whereas if it's only a two week ban people would take the risk. I don't know what the rest of the people think but the fact it's only a two week ban for doing something which is extremely illegal is wrong.

Please leave your opinion on this.

Also this thread can be related to releasing personal info too. thanks lol

well the rule pretty much applies to threats, and most ddos threats are empty so a 14 day ban is all thats needed, if you can actually prove you've been doxed/ddosed then it should at least be a perm ban

Since its illegal, don't you think you should be... reporting it to authorities... rather than whining about it on a minecraft server...?

I don't see how he's 'whining about it' this is obviously a suggestion, as he stated to help the server. Support, I think it should be taken more seriously than it currently is.

bro what do you mean whining? im making the suggestion to help the community become less toxic and actually make the staff realise that it's worthy of a blacklist instead of a 14 day ban

also oh yes, let me just report this to the authorities, "a minecraft player from the otherside of the world just ddosed me, help"

Even though it's illegal authorities do not really spend time on home-networks being ddosed or stressed because some attacks are not that easy to locate (and you'd probably need some hard evidence that your service is actually being Dos'd or stressed for them to even consider doing anything, this might differ from country to country. Authorities mainly focus on Dos attacks if it's directed to big company servers or themselves.

I agree with what you said, that if someone is caught ddosing, and there's some kind of proof, they should be IP banned, blacklisted and whatnot. But I don't think this will stop the players that do DDos from coming back using something as simple as a VPN.

      Correct me if im wrong.

No support, there's 13year olds who ddos threat when they rage. Everyone knows 99% of threats are just threats. Beside's you'd have to perm ip blacklist the whole server.

which is why i said to only give a perm ban if they follow through on the threats

I like the rule how it is now, but changing it to be a lobby ban could be a possible improvement

      If you look through the reports archive, you'll quickly see that ddos threats are given different ban lengths;

Yes, meanwhile some are threats some aren't. Empty threats should be taken as seriously as if it was a serious threat. If "13year olds" use that as a way to threaten somebody, this is a good way to teach them that it's not even okay to joke about it.
I've been a victim of DDos and a threat like that is not something that should be taken lightly. No matter what age.

By instantly permban-blacklisting them? That's like the same thing as chopping hands off for stealing candy.

There's a difference between havng screenshots of someone threatening you and having actual proof they DOS'd you.
The threats part, no matter if its an empty threat or not should be taken as seriously as if it were a real threat.
The permban-blacklisting them is if someone could actually, somehow prove that they attacked you.
      That's just IMO though.

And no it isn't? People normally get blacklisted on any other server for ddosing related content 'chopping someones hands off for stealing' makes no sense what so ever like what??? That's the most irrelevant and dumb point i've ever seen anyone make
