I suggest not using the b450-f with a 3900x. I suggest going with the msi b450 tomahawk max. besides that, nice pc. (got any images of it?)

Isn't the best management of cables, but it's better than a few I've seen *cough cough* Verge *cough cough* something in my throat, Excuse me.

Nice RGB cables, and the reason I suggested you not go for the b450-f is that it is very low quality for the price tag. For b450, msi makes the best boards, which is why I suggested the tomahawk max.

    If it's a 3900X I wouldn't recommend anything less than an X470 chipset.

I'd go with something like this to allow the 3900x to stretch its muscles.

    https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6hF48d/asus-prime-x470-pro-atx-am4-motherboard-prime-x470-pro

I would highly, HIGHLY recommend investing in a better power supply as well, especially with the parts list you currently have.

The b450 board i suggested does not require a bios update and can handle a 3900x with ease
    as seen here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...TJFqqVxdCR9daIVNyMatydkpFA/edit#gid=611478281

I don't have any doubts at B450 chipset can handle a 3900x; but the X570 is going to give him much better overclocking performance compared to the b450 chipset. Buying a 3900x and then using a B450 is like buying a mansion and living alone.

That spreadsheet indicates than the X570 is going to handle the 3900x with lower temps as well, which will allow more overclocking potential and better stablilty of the system.

Thing is, 3rd gen ryzen doesn't overclock that well, you are lucky to get a 100 Mhz OC.

All great ideas from both of you, honestly. But I'm not really going to be overclocking the CPU anyhow. It will be a short while until I can get the CPU and board.

Both B450 and X570 have what I want in terms of features, which one I go with is undetermined as of right now. But when the time comes I will update my specification life above.
