Support, you’re really nice , very active, and you have experience. Everyone deserves second chances. <3 Gl!
So in your last twelve reports, six of them turned out to be invalid due to a lack of evidence or a previous report. A success ratio of 50% is atrocious in my opinion. Though it's good that you're trying to help the server, not being able to identify cheats or have the attention to realize it's already been reported is a negative thing. What do you think about this? I definitely believe that those twelve reports can be representative of your reports as a whole, or do you disagree?
I can identify cheats, quite-well actually. If you would watch the videos, you would notice significant fps drops, and/or the fov was too high. I've fixed the fov, and have solved as to why my frames were going bananas. I would just like to point out that how I do reports DO NOT reflect who I, or anyone else, is going to be as a moderator. We all make mistakes, and I have made a few. The only way to continue, is to learn from them, and I have. I recently reported a player, who I in fact knew was closet cheating, and it got denied. I kept trying until I found suitable evidence that will incriminate the player, and I later on got him banned. It's not that I am unable to identify hacks, because I can do so just fine.
Have you never reported a closet cheater? Half the time they're always denied. In my eyes she's being consistent in fact she tries harder til the reported player is banned. It's good to have the characteristic of not giving up.
If you say you can identify cheats, then I guess I'll believe you. However, I don't agree with your stating that "reports do not reflect who I, or anyone else, is going to be as a moderator." I think that's a general statement that fails at encompassing all applicants, and I don't believe that we shouldn't consider reports in the applicant review process. Everything has a story to tell, and reports are no exception. You even show that yourself; your anecdote about reporting reveals that you are perseverant in the face of difficulty. Reports should play a role in our considering of you as a potential moderator. Overall, with the report issue answered to my satisfaction, I think you are a good candidate for moderator. Support.
He raised a good point, then again so did you. Just remember that we only ban if we're sure beyond any doubt that the player is in fact breaking the rules; this is why reports on 'closters' are often denied, the nature of closet cheating is cheating but not exceeding what a player *could* do naturally, therefore making it almost impossible to tell if any rules are actually being broken.
