So a lot of you are going to disagree with this, I know I am guilty of this as well lmao, there's not really much choice but hear me out guys. With Infection, it's really either a hit or miss. You are teamed with everyone, or you are faced with a ridiculous challenge. There's simply no balance. Infection, the only alive gamemode on Mineverse gets a fairly decent amount of new people joining it and they don't stay. Newbies are not teamed with anyone and basically die almost instantly every game. I think that teaming should either be disallowed in the rules (no, it can't be prevented completely, but if there's sufficient evidence such as someone letting a zombie through, a zombie ignoring an easy target etc.. then action can be taken). I'm honestly not the type of person to rant, really. It's just boring, it's either too easy (teamed with everyone), or almost impossible. Then there's usually a bunch of people alive whilst no one plays the game as it's meant to be played because everyone is teamed. Think about it, the goal is to be the "last person alive", I don't think the minigame accounts for teaming. I'd like to know your thoughts on this, constructive comments only please, thank you
Neutral. It should be discouraged but certainly not against the rules, it does get boring when you are trying to get levels and all the zombies target you just so their friend can win.
No support. I think there are better ways to make new players stay than making teaming against the rules It would also be impossible to determine whether someone is teaming or not. Sometimes you just don't see someone or want to target a greater "threat". If I see @Gabby, @Quertiss or @PerfectAly in a game I make sure to target them for example. That's what you call a true friend ;) Personally, I think most of Mineverse's gamemodes are community-based. Teaming is one of the main reasons infection has a community. You don't necessarily log on just to play, but to take part in the community and have fun with friends As long as you aren't purposely trying to ruin other peoples' game experience, I don't see a problem with it
Pretty much the main issue here is newbies aren't staying. Obviously no other gamemode (except for SkyBlock occasionally)will get newbies to stay, they're all dead. Infection is basically the best way to attract new players to Mineverse. Have a look at the playerbase, especially in Infection within this context and ask yourself, how many new players do you see? Ones you know have not played a year or 5 ago. There's no way to absolutely be sure of teaming however if recording shows multiple instances of humans (that aren't in super strong armor) letting zombies past while zombies ignore them. I would be happy for teaming to be discouraged instead if there were something else in place for newbies, such as "Goals/Challenges" that newbies follow (such as xp for killing your first 5 zombies, etc).
Pretty much sums up why I’m neutral, new players don’t wanna play when they get teamed on by 5 prestiged players.
As annoying as teaming and communes can be sometimes, it would be very, very hard to monitor who is teaming and who isn't. If people would just voluntarily stop teaming with half the players to grind levels or using their ranks as influence over new players, more newbies would stay; unfortunately that isn't going to happen.
I bet I could make a plugin to check who is teamed with who for most players simply based on chat logs lol, but yeah, you can't tell 100% of the time for every case. Oh well, rip newbies ig.
Based on chat logs? Yes, that might be able to identify who the potential teamers are, but that would not be sufficient evidence to punish someone. That's essentially the same thing as banning someone for saying they're hacking in chat, but never actually seeing them hack.
Honestly sometimes the ability to cross-team is a blessing because you can then tag team some of the stronger teams/players. I do love disagreeing with sando but unfortunately this is one of those things I did myself :(.
