I think we need to fix access to do /staff. This will help make it easier for newer (and older) players to look and see if any staff are online. Currently, doing the command only works properly in the lobby, Skyblock, and Creative. Meaning if there's a hacker, the majority of the time you'll have to leave to see if any staff are online. I've listed the errors you get when trying to do /staff in all the other gamemodes. Parkour - "You do not have permission to use this command." Kit PvP - "An internal error occurred while attempting to perform this command" Factions - "You do not have permission to use this command." OP PvP - "An internal error occurred while attempting to perform this command" Survival - Shows the GUI, but doesn't actually show staff members' heads.
There's already a suggestion on this really but you can also do /where to see where a specific staff member is or if they're online on the gamemodes that /staff "is broken" on.
I agree a lot on this one. Having /Staff is majorly useful. Getting a hold of any available staff member that is online is crucial because staff are here to help in any way possible and this is a great way of pursuing that.
As far as I can tell, there has not been a thread started or replied to of this topic in the past month, rendering it inactive anyways. Besides, we shouldn't settle for a workaround command to avoid the problem. Yes! Thanks for the support
https://www.mineverse.com/threads/add-back-staff.147249/ As you can see you don't really have a choice for the work around as matt the developer of the staff/friends plugin has said it won't work on the versions that have their base version as 1.8.9 so op pvp and kitpvp and the skulls are missing from survival to prevent duping. Same issue would be for factions and parkour that are for op and kit because their core Verisons are 1.8.9.
This can be resolved by buying or getting ahold of another plugin, I am aware that it will cost in some way shape or form but I'm sure Mineverse can fund something like this to make the server a better place. It's an issue that is not a priority for staff right now which is why this thread has been posted.
I doubt that after the work our developer has put into the plugin that they'll just go buy another plugin. That'd be like adding a new skyblock plugin after the work that Matt put into the custom one he made for .net that we also use.
True. But it isn't always about how much hard work was put into something by someone. It's about helping the server in any way possible even if it means paying a price financially or emotionally like you pretty much stated. Just a suggestion.
Like RentPvP said, it should be about helping the server. If Matt's plugin doesn't work on 5/7 gamemodes, perhaps an alternative plugin is necessary.
