DISCLAIMER: To sum it up, if you don't like reading, then this suggestion is to implement /helpop. If you like the idea of /helpop, please give this a support. Thank youu Hi friendly non-toxic players and forum users of Mineverse, I am here to suggest a wonderful GAME ChANGING command!!! Most of you should welcome my command suggestion, /helpme, the derivative of /helpop. Desciption: /helpme is a command that would be free to use for the general public. The basic purpose of this command is, and if you're familiar with /helpop you'd already know, to ask online staff members for assistance, generally regarding hackers. The method of "asking" a staff member is done through a separate chat - a chat only visible to staff members. What differentiates /helpme from /helpop is that the help message will be broadcasted across the server (in the separate chat, of course). Function: /helpme would be used in the following sequence: /helpme <message>. The message broadcasted to the staff team would be something like this: [Gamemode] [Player assisting help]: <message sent>. Benefit: Of course, this would pose a great benefit for the players as they will be able to join with an available staff member at moment's notice. They won't have to get a friend to attempt to get a moderator from another server while they're getting killed by a hacker, or wait until they've died to get the moderator in rage; they will be able to *hopefully* message a moderator while in combat and avoiding death. Abuse: Of course, with commands like these comes abuse. Players will constantly find a way to pick at staff whenever they can, that's why a 2 minute cooldown would be implemented for ALL PLAYERS to avoid spam. Now, I can see how someone could say "well 2 minutes is a long time to wait for a moderator to come when I need them immediately". Yet, in scenarios like so, they should be patient regarding moderator assistance; perhaps the moderator is already there but not in communication with this player at the moment, or that there aren't anyone available at that time. Another way to prevent abuse (this is directed in the case of spam bots using /helpme repetitively) is to implement a 10 minutes cooldown for ALL NEW PLAYERS joining the gamemode. If 10 minutes is too exaggerated, then use 5 minutes. (That's if this sub-suggestion is taken into consideration, of course) Trolling: Let's say someone does abuse, or we could also refer it as troll, the /helpme command, of course further consequences will come with their actions. Consequences may vary, but a more plausible solution would be to create a way to deny a user to use /helpme for a certain period of time (since a /tempmute command won't stop the player from using the /helpme command). If that is sounding unrealistic, then a ban would be the following possibility of consequences. Examples: Now, I'm really doing a favor to the staff team right now if they want to implement this command. Examples of trolling would be some of the following (divided by a semicolon): someone repetitively, after cooldown, making a false claim and wasting part of the moderator's time (verbal warning would be necessary before issuing any punishment); someone using the command for the wrong use intentionally, using the command inappropriately or in a disrespectful/flaming manner; and so on. Closure: I'd like to say that this suggestion is rather a community suggestion, meaning that everyone can invoice their own opinions and thoughts on the command, improvements that could be made to solidify its use and avoid its abuse, etc. If you have an idea, voice it!
IKR there is already a /helpop command in-game (on kit only I think), but it's staff member exclusive @8top thx for support rating @SniffMyToes messaged me on discord support so thx to him
Love this. I see no downside to implementing this, especially since you're suggesting a cool-down. Support!
if you do find a downside to this, PLS tell me cuz there has to be one somewhere Yes it would, ty for agreeing ;) @Swift ty for support
BUMP Please have a look at this suggestion - it's pretty much /helpop but I went into details about it in the thread
