    Multiple problems with ip banning.

    VPNs |Most hackers have them, they can continue playing easily.

    Family | Some people have family that play mineverse, ip banning would cause not only the hacker to be banned, but whoever else is on the ip.

    Requires perm banning | Unless there's something I don't know about, you can't temp ip ban.

    lol " most hackers have them " lol did you guys do some sort of research to know that for sure?,

    if they do have family members they can just post a report or something to get that specific account unbanned

    i mean haven't there been about 3-5 people with unlimited alts hacking on the server for hours ?
    a simple ip ban can stop them and you don't even know if any of them have a vpn

    Just perm ip ban the custom client hackers, they'll never play legit anyway. Even if they use a vpn, they'll run out of alts eventually. In like 5 years.

    why not just ip ban these hackers ? i mean it would help us so much more
    its pathetic to see that staff members are not supporting me on this one
    from 300 players a day to 40 players a day, too many people have quit now, next this server might aswell be shut down, 4 years right down the drain

    No kidding. This is the reason why I've stopped playing mineverse. Kitpvp2 has been neglected and overrun by hackers to the point where everyone stopped playing it. Sure, some people have VPNs, but not every hacker. In fact, I bet more hackers have alt accounts than VPNs. As for the sibling issue, that would be the price to pay for hackers. Chances are, if one sibling hacks, the other sibling will most likely hack as well, so it's a win win. I'm sure people will disagree with me, but this is what it'll take to cut down on the hacker issue.

    I know because half the goddamn people I alt check no alts show on their main, and when we do ip-ban somebody around 95% of the time they just get right back on with an alt.

    There have been people like that, and we do sometimes ip-ban them when we can get proof that they're all the same person, and yknow what happens when they do? They continue playing on vpns and alts.

    no, it really wouldn't, all it would do is lower the playerbase even more because you're perm banning them. Even larger servers that are very strict on hacking give people a chance before perm banning them.

    It's not, because we actually understand the fact that ip-banning does literally nothing to people who wish to continue hacking and will only lower the playerbase even more.

    They have tons of vpns, we've seen it in action before, bman has ip-banned around 50 accounts and he was still logging on with vpns.

    So somebody's brother makes one mistake and everyone gets perm banned from the server? mk..

    no, this isn't the case at all lol

    you're saying that ip banning will lower the player base ? hasn't it already gone from 300 to 30 a day cause you guys haven't started ip banning ?
    isnt the ban time 7 days now ?

    lol I'm sure that happend and if it did that that's why.

    I personally don't agree with the ban time, but I'm not in control of it.

    Lets not get frustrated and use that kind of language here.
    Every single alt check I send sr-mods gets alts shown, I have no clue what you are talking about. 95% of the time is extremely exaggerated, when banning a player, most of the time they actually go to another server or leave completely. When people come back on alts, it’s usually the same person as before.

    Half the time when I do an alt check, if I check the alt (or maybe it was the main, forgot which) I see no alts on it, if I check the main (or alt, idk) I do see them on, which, because of the way they work, means they're using a vpn and trying to get by us.

    In all the times I've seen people ip banned, I've only seen around 1 time where they actually don't come back.

    I think with new plugins you can IP ban only a specific user.

    Full Support since it wouldn't hurt me since I don't hack.
