Global Allow ban evading.

So you mean like if they do it on an alt have that not in place? I mean I guess that is correct but we'd have to know for sure it's an alt and not a main.

Please read the previous replies in this thread, I mean you haven't been mod for a month and I know for a fact you can see people don't care about this rule, hell probably 25% of the people online are ban evading due to how easy it is. As I've said before, most people learn their lesson by having their main banned, and what's to stop those who don't learn their lesson from doing it again, I mean, if they're going to try to hack again what's to stop them from doing it on an alt already? One more rule in front of them isn't going to stop them from breaking another one.

And why would that be? If you you think it's anything like the people I have mentioned above think please read this whole post, or read the previous replies on this thread.

 

I see what you mean, but you want a server full of hackers? We can't be desperate for players that much where we don't ban hackers because thats what this thread is saying. Instead, the owners can put in some advertisement or a revamp and actually work on getting legit players, not rule breakers and peoples alts. Also I said that the people that get banned on mineverse come back with alts so that will not raise the playerbase that much at all.

 

no it's not, you've literally taken my point and just thrown it out the window.

Most people can learn their lesson just by having their main banned, those who don't clearly don't care about rules and one more will not stop them.

It will, you've got people who didn't know it was a rule and don't want to ban evade, you've also got the people that we find ban evading that get banned on the account, this will raise the playerbase and will put less stress on us moderators.

 

It will actually put more stress. You don't get that they will just come back on and hack again.. Mod's aren't on 24/7, so if they don't see one on, they will continue to hack. Like I said, you can get unlimited alts. They will hack again because they're technically not getting banned at all. Which means they can keep logging on and hack.

 

THAT'S EXACTLY MY POINT, if they don't care about our rules enough to where they'll hack they clearly won't care about one saying that they can't ban evade.

 

There's a possibility this will change the perspective of current players. People who are normally legit or hack occasionally might invest in better or custom clients and hack on alts, drastically increasing the number of hackers.

 

They can do this anyway lol, I'm not going to go into how for obv reasons, but it's already so easy to hack on an alt without having your main banned for ban evading.

Allowing an alt to play does not lower the punishment at all, most people learn their lesson by just having their main banned.

Those who don't learn their lesson and wish to break the rules again, you really think a simple no ban evading rule is going to stop them from going on an alt and breaking the rules again?

Changing to support. I am getting more of an understanding to why this should be allowed.

 

That's why mineverse should IP ban... :P

 

1. Ip banning requires perm banning people (if I'm correct)
2. The banned player could have brothers or sisters that wish to play on the server
3. Most hackers and such use vpns

IP banning sounds like it'd be the solution to the problem but it's really not, all it would cause is more problems, we'd have people that are like brothers / sisters of somebody that got banned appeal because they don't know why they can't log on, hackers would still come on because vpns exist, it'd be worse than before.

 

I see what you're saying, servers have VPN protection etc. Not sure why MV wouldn't. But the sister/brother part I see. It would just be smart to not hack but I see what you mean.

Are we still debating this? Seriously if you allow ban evading people who want to play mineverse will stop because they will believe the server wont do anything and will stop playing it.

 

What? The only thing this rule is doing is getting rid of players, getting rid of the rule would increase the player count lol

We will obv ban people if they break the rules, this rule however is useless and just lowers the playercount.
