Similar to how /bal has been modified to be able to view others balance as well, implement the same thing for ping, typing /ping without following it with a name would display your own ping. Now I understand a lot of people would say just use labymod, it displays ping on tab somewhat accurately, but there are some people, myself included who can't use labymod for one reason or another or simply want a more accurate way to determine ping. The uses go beyond pvp as well, knowing whether your opponent could be cheating or simply lagging. Perhaps even using it to find peoples alt accounts due to identical connection, in case they are ban evading. (It may seem difficult but I've had success with it in the past.) This is a small change but I believe it can be very useful and would take very little effort to implement.
Support. Don't know why people are saying no support as this helps people who don't have labymod check there ping and it really isn't useless because people ask for my ping all the time but I can't tell them because I can't get labymod. Hope this gets added.
It's a pvp server, where ping matters. Regardless of whether its a serious pot pvp server, it would be useful to know other peoples ping. Not trying to start an argument, just want you to understand.
Its accurate in comparison with the bars displayed on tab, but you're quite right. A client side mod can't be as accurate as a server side plugin in regards to other players information.
Accept since it’s so hard to get things across to this wonderful large big network it’s just not useful in anyway they can check their conputer specs when they login to mineverse. This isnt competitve PVP. Anyways going to neutral since I think it would be a good addition to the server but on the other hand the likelyness of this happening is slim. Goodluck on this bud.
For people like me that use fully VANILLA Minecraft, this command would definitely be useful and commonly used by myself. Support
We won't be adding a /ping command but in the upcoming update we're modifying the tablist so that it will display your ping - should be even better than the command so you can see your ping without typing anything.
Thank you for submitting your suggestion. We have decided that we will be implementing this suggestion in the future/in an upcoming changelog. Should you have any more suggestions or feedback for how we may improve the network, please feel free to create another thread. Thread moved to archives. Regards, The Staff
