So I was gonna make this post under "Suggestions" but I wanted to see what other players thought about this and see everyone's point of view on this. So for those who play prison may get where I'm coming from with this. When a VP happens there's a chance you get free diamond gear. Diamond boots, helm, chest, leggings, and sword. Now there's a problem with the drops and that's the diamond sword. Iron and Diamond swords are jailable for up to 1-2 hours (Real-time) since they are an illegal item in the prison itself. Now, this is my own opinion on this and why I think swords should be unbanned/allowed. The oak wood mine in D mine is the mine that gives the most money. 399.96 or so per stack so it doesn't take long to make much just have to have patience with mining wood. A person who is D-Prisoner can rank up to C-Prisoner very quickly and then have access to ores such as gold and iron. Why mention all this? I have a feeling someone will say its "Unfair to lower ranks" if they cant craft an iron or diamond sword if they're allowed all they could make is wood. But it doesn't take long to make 50k with the oak mine so a person could have access to iron ore to craft an iron sword within a half hour or so. /warp dmine also allows players to teleport straight to dmine without going through pvp and /warp shop gets them to shop easy. So running in pvp shouldn't have to be the only option to get from one place to another. So losing things won't be an issue. Simple. If diamond swords are bannable why give them out in vote parties?? Simple because it doesn't make any sense. These are 2 of my main thoughts but I wonder what staff/other players think of this? I can see why bows are jailable not everyone can get their hands on a string to make one. But what are your thoughts on this? If you read all this thank you... Took me at least 20 minutes to type all this. ._.
Basically every prison server has contraband items. If you take away contraband items then you're taking away a main feature of prison. Since mineverse basically is staffless for several hours of the day, you shouldn't have any problem using a diamond sword if you wish. The reason contraband items are a thing is so players have to use them undercover to simulate an actual prison I guess.
Understandable. But why give them in vote parties? (If those happen...) it doesn't make much sense there?Yea free diamond stuff but if its bannable why give?
That's something I don't understand. I was AFK once and picked up a sword from the VP. Ended up getting jailed because a moderator happened to be on at the time.. lol
This has happened to me too many times and it's so annoying... Everyone says "Put some steak in your hand or something. Simple." Yea but not everyone is gonna remember to do that every time they go afk in the prison...
Diamond/iron swords are not bannable on prison, never have been. The reason they're jailable is because of the roleplay aspect of the gamemode that makes them like a contraband item irl prison. Just because they are contraband items, doesn't mean you can't use them. Yes, you can get punished for using them in the "prison", but in the free and plot worlds, you can use them freely for grinding, etc. It's not that difficult to put a steak or any other non-contraband item in your hand before you go afk. If you get in the habit of it, you won't even notice you do it. You could even go afk at your plot or in the free world where holding contaband items doesn't result in jail time.
But still, we should be allowed to use iron and diamond swords. I have like 6 dubs of maxed out diamond/iron swords that I want to use...
Swords are already annoying enough, you've got people (not naming names but yknow who you are) hugging the safezone than coming out with a wood sword with fire aspect or something to light you on fire, and run back into the safezone. Diamond swords and things would just be even worse lol Plus it gives us guards some fun, and like scor said, it's the roleplay aspect of prison.
Note: To lazy to type jailable plus I kinda see it as being banned in a way. Your being punished for having a diamond sword/iron sword. But not everyone is gonna remember "Oh I have to put pork in my hand before I go otherwise I may come back to see Im in jail." No. If its something that needs to be done quick you have to go right there and then. Its not gonna come to your mind to put something in your hand. Simple and not everyone can do /warp free. Yea I understand its the roleplay aspect but my concern is the vote parties mostly. Like I said before not everyone is gonna remember to put pork or something in their hand before they leave.
The vote parties are odd, but you really have to get unlucky to end up with a dia sword in your hand :P I'm not sure if we can change vote parties or not either.
While they are jailable in PvP they are not in the real world which helps with mcmmo, grinding, making money, ect. I'm also fairly sure axes are allowed, they are almost as good as swords and if you have sharpness books you could make an extremely overpowered axe and have it almost as effective as a sword.
