Full support, releasing someone's private information can make them feel insecure.
I would like to have a longer ban as a punishment for this offense.

 

Neutral. I stopped any possibility of people relesiaing my info by doxing myself.

Anyways I've seen people get banned for using first names even tho they tell people it openly. The rules on this are very loose. I believe for extreme stuff like a full dox like I did should be a perm ban, but you should have proof that you NEVER openly gave some of that information out, like some people have said their full names and addresses in the world chat before.

I think if a player is suspected of releasing information but maybe the victim has that information public or private, it should be looked in to and if the victim never released information about themselves, then yes a very severe punishment should be placed. I personally don’t mind if my first name is used because it’s such a generic name, but it people think it to be a releasing of their private information, then a ban should be placed.

General hacking on a pvp server has a more severe consequence than releasing very private information, and I think if getting your possible identity stolen isn’t as bad as a little bit of kill aura on op, then the severity should be changed on the ban.

Everyone who thinks it shouldn't be long, let me ask you this; do you plan on releasing someones private information? Is that why you dislike the idea of a long ban?
Unlike hacking, this is an intentional rule break. People don't accidentally release someones IP, full name, address, or other means of personal information. If anything, there should be a full year, or even permanent ban.

I would support it but kinda of differently. If whoever was releasing info has not gotten banned or had a generally bad reputation, then they would get like a month ban or something along those lines. However, if they were known to be a generally troublesome person, then I would agree with something such as a perm ban. I also think the rules on personal info should be changed. I recently found someone spreading very inappropriate pictures of someone else, and both people were MV players but the offender may not even get banned because its in the rules that it "has to be in game or on the MV discord," which I think is a general load of BS. If someone on MV is harassing another player of MV with spreading their personal info on other platforms, just get them out of the community.
