Hello before I start thank you for reading. @Gabe has given me the idea to create this thread. If you have a standard PC and struggle to make your FPS better then here are some solutions. 1. Get a 16x resource pack (used one on my old PC and worked brilliant) 2. Fiddle around with your video settings (List of my old settings will be provided for help!). 3. If the top 2 doesn't work instead of full screen as in fully windowed try just windowed again, screenshot will be provided to help! If these steps do not work then my suggestion is don't have so many google chrome tabs or MC launchers open at once, normally I have about 4-5 on some days open to afk spawners on other servers, I run about 300-500 FPS on PvP Servers with my current settings + packs, it would also help to fix your FPS if you have particles on decreased due to no "Disabled" selection in the options, I have mine on all due to being able to run it with a 128x pack. I can supply a video of me PvPing on a server with my old settings while on a 16x pack on a windowed screen and it was pretty smooth for me, windowed screens may not be suitable for some/most people as it's fairly small should I say. [EDIT] The video I was going to provide is already on my signature. My settings (Old PC): Render Distance on 8(normal), Graphics: Fast, Smooth Lighting: Off with a 16x pack doing around 50-150FPS. (Windowed Screen) My settings (New PC) Render Distance on 32 (Extreme), Graphics: Fancy, Smooth Lighting: Max (100%) with a 128x Pack I'm doing around 300-500FPS. (Full Screen) This is a windowed screen: https://gyazo.com/fc8c680b8f574db14674c8c236b4cec1 ^^ I used this screen whilst on my old PC as I managed to run Minecraft in general better. This is what I meant by "Full screen or Full windowed": https://gyazo.com/67626fc4904136a65d8208f6f6033d79 Please note none of these options are entirely accurate just tips of what COULD help if your PC manages.. They helped with me IMO they worked for me.. If they do not work for you then I can attempt to try help with what may be the issue. My PC components that currently are better then my old PC. My New PC components: 2x NVIDIA GTX 750's and a 4x AMD quad core CPU. My OLD PC Components: 1x NVIDIA GT 610 and a basic CPU that I forgot the name of lol. FPS isn't always too do with Packs, Settings or Graphics cards, it can also be down to how much memory that the PC has free to be able to optimize it self for MC, my old PC had a 1TB hard drive and it was 890GB full of games, my current hard drive is a 2TB with 100GB full and my PC manages to optimize it's self to be able to perform a lot better on games not only Minecraft. A useful mod for MC that could help optimize FPS is called "Optifine" I don't know whether I am able to link the page or not but if I can I will edit it into the post! I again thank you for taking your time to read this thread, I hope I have managed to help out some people with the information provided!
Thank you for creating this thread! This would be very useful for players who struggle to get good FPS or for players who just wanna get better FPS! If you need more help or a more in-depth explanation on how to fix your FPS, you can always PM me or or @DisPxtch.
Thanks for reading too. I also apologise to everyone who struggles to read some of it.. My grammar and spelling ain't the best took me ages to make everything best I can due to dyslexia.
We would all be able to understand you well without your struggle to make it perfect, thanks for putting in time though. ;)
i have 2013 computer and runs minecraft like butter on toast (not to mention overwatch as well with a solid 60 fps) but not so much with the computer in general, cri cri it's more ping that's my issue, but i play more overwatch and kinda stopped mc and because OW has local servers i don't lag nearly as much as mc xd
These tips helped my fps go up by quite a bit, but I’m still running slowly. So I didn’t want to buy a new laptop for myself to use, but I really need an upgrade. As you can see by my recordings, it’s pretty bad, as with higher resolution, the lower the frames per second go. Seeing as I’m an applicant, I’m going to need to improve this (especially if I get accepted). I’m going to instead buy a new part for the laptop to make it run faster in general. Any recommendations of what to purchases? We already have 8gb of ram on there which seems to be fine for now, so yeah. I’m working on this with my brothers right now, but any ideas help.
Not much I can help with ping... My ping is terrible too.. Making PvP on MV hard for me due to my hit reg is horrendous.
I had a hard drive failure when I first returned to MV, I now have a clean harddrive.. It's made no difference myself. My new additions in my PC are a GTX-750 graphics drive and a CPU but I forgot my CPU have to check with my brother on that one, but in all honestly graphics cards are more useful for FPS as they control what you can render etc.
I’m working with a laptop, so I’m unsure if a graphics card would be implementable in my case. I already had 666gb of storage on the hard drive apparently, only using like 100 gbs on there, so that’s probably not what is slowing it down. Any recommendations?
Tbh, I would just get rid of the laptop and build a PC, mine has been turned on last 8 days now and not even warm air coming off my fans bro.
I know.. I have that issue but I get my brother to for me, honestly I'm not very good with laptops, should Google the information you're looking for.
