Why can't we say the word g-a-y?

Just in case the same rules apply here on the forums, I'll spell out the word whenever necessary to use it. But why can't we say it on your servers? Whenever I try to type it, I get "Try not to use unpleasant language," or something along those lines. Homosexuality is a perfectly normal thing and to not allow people to do as much as SAY the word is quite restricting and isn't very nice to the LGBT members of this server. Please, can you change this?

The owner said that people might use it as a slanderous word used to direct hatred, but honestly, this ain't the 80's no more. "Ur so gay" is only said by little 11 year olds...

I'd rather be accepting of the odd pre-pubescent going "hahah geyyy" every couple weeks than have the server look homophobic.

This needs changed imo, support.

 

They should unblock it as Lesbian is also Blocked. It shouldn't be as this may offend many different people who support Gay or Lesbian people.

 

Because the gays cut their wrists when someone says "gay".

Honestly, pretty sure this thread's replies so far just about sum up why it's blocked. People aren't mature enough to differentiate themselves from somebody who has a different sexuality. Honestly, it's not the fact that the server is homophobic, it's the fact that half the people who play it either:

A). Lack the braincells to realise people are GAY and people are LESBIAN... No, they're not attention seeking, they're fu**ing gay, now deal with it.
B). Entangled in a net of anxiety, so they're forced to hop on the bandwagon... And claim that when they punish somebody who speaks the truth, they're 'doing their job' or what they did 'was acceptable'.​

Now like I said, ain't nobody going to be offended by somebody saying "you're gay", like seriously, if you get triggered over that, you have a low tolerance, one that needs a look at.

 

well see everyone uses it. it can be used in different ways. one, as in insult. second, as a joke. third, for the fun of it.

When people use the word as an insult, I don't think a lot of them use it with the intention to offend someone, and are unaware of why they should not use it. I think once people are mature and educated enough, it could be unfiltered.

might seem a little controversial, but you're opinion is wrong.
'gay' can be used as a normal word, in fact the dictionary definition of gay is somebody who likes the same sex. if you wan't to be an advocate for anti-homophobia, you cannot be saying that the only definitions for a word are: to insult and to joke, it takes all seriousness away from the word, makes you look homophobic, which if you think like this; I have no doubt you are...

 

cuz being gay is a sin!!!
