I agree with Eccentric, why in the world would you want sexism, racism and swearing in a global server?
Ahah, look at other servers with no chat filter, one server has more than 14000 people playing it on weekends, now look at this server: annoying chat filter which barely works, and a crappy "anti spam system"which doesnt work. Such as commqnd cooldown. I find it funny how people think removing chat fulters would be a disaster, when other servers that dont hqve it are 20x more successful than this server ever was. Chat filter are annoying. Especially this one.
Honestly Mineterria i have known you for a long time and we dont talk anymore but we use to but this is the worst thing i have every heard yo say. I would support if you said allow words like as and dam because some peoples name have as like and example asgoodasu the filter would change it to **ogod**u and the person wont even know yo are talking to them no support Another thing to you staff members who say this would be inappropriate for little kids who plays this server. There is always filter bypassing and no one reports anyone for doing it. I have seen people bypass filters in so many ways like F@* @s* b1t*h wh0re Nig*@ C0c*k and there are many other words that are not in the filter that can be viewed as offensive and inappropriate for kids so you statements are useless becuase there is so much toxicity around that no one would be affected by sexism racism and all those other things. @Ordi @chari @Elliot

Thank you for all the feedback. I will clarify my suggestion. I have been playing Mineverse since 2013, and I will say that we do not have consistent problems with racism and sexism. We have had very few issues of which were caused by irregular players not taking the prevalent morality of the server seriously. For you guys to suggest that a freedom of speech would be a threat to this server, you must think pretty lowly of Mineverse. This suggestion section of the forums shows that Mineverse is of sorts an autonomous server where players can be trusted to contribute to it's advancement. I trust you people with unrestricted control of your speech on this server. To not support my suggestion on the basis of racism and sexism is telling that you support outright censorship to suit your moral alignment and calm your consciousness. Friend or not, I must disagree with you, and say that a people's rights do not end where your emotions start. I am not racist, or sexist, at all. I have many coloured and female friends. I trust the regular players of this server to not abuse personal freedoms.
This chat filter doesn't entirely restrict racism, sexism, or swearing. As bypassing is regular. Yet I have not seen any form of racism or sexism on this server. Only swearing via bypassing the filter with a "_" in front of a swear word. Therefor I see no point in a chat filter as is practically doesn't work at all. It's just an annoyance for people, as it interrupts a players sentence on the basis of something in that sentence being a swear word because it blocks out the two words, even though they're profane at all. Remove the filter - mineverse will prevail from it.
Ya know, I think the filter encourages people to cuss and bypass it. Other servers I play on without a filter have little to no cussing problems, than theres this server... And what's funnier is that the ages 10-13 (the age of kids we're trying to "protect") is usually when kids learn these words and feel the need to use them often, so why would it be inappropriate for them if they already know the words. Support, why not? Besides, when games are both multiplayer and single player, it states that online rating may very. So parents should expect this, unless they're not paying attention to what their kids do on the internet.
Umm just remove the filter and keep the rules in place, the filter is easy to bypass anyone, just annoying when it censors random words.
The filter has nothing to do with freedom of speech. It is about keeping the game clean for everyone. We have many players on this server that are younger then 10 years old.
the chat filter is useless; -it's extremely easy to bypass, and even if u get caught by a mod or reported by someone who somehow got offended, u get a warning (so what??). -the filters on kitpvp2 are dysfunctional, u can't have more than one conversation at a time, and u can't say someone's name with like more than 3 caps in it. Honestly the chat filter is much like a figurehead, doing nothing to stop swearing/other inapropriate language while the mods do 100% of the enforcing, all the time.
Thats a funny joke nearly everyone swears on op. obviously there are some good people but theres a lot of swearing.
Support. Every single word that is currently filtered has another word that means the same thing that isn't filtered. For example, gay is filtered, fag and queer are not.
Nah, it's easy to bypass a simple filter all you do is _[bad word] and there you go no one with a brain can't figure this out. not hard
Which is why it is completely useless, and should be removed as it also blocks out words which aren't profane at all - if I were to say "experiences except" it would block both words out and ruin my sentence. A pure pointless annoyance.
