Since death wishes have been changed to 7 day ban in-game, does that mean it'll change to a week ban on forums?
This is probably the best thing the owners have done in over a year. While not perfect, this punishment is a lot more fair.
Have you tried a 7 day mute? It's better to just ban for 7 days. Muting for 7 days... well, it's pretty... well. :L
I've been muted for a whole day (or two) and I didn't care less because I never talk to the community
Hardly anyone would actually come online if they were muted for 7 days. Seriously, if you want to reduce the punishment, just make it 7 days ban.
but death threats is a chat offense so why ban them when they could spend those 7 days building a castle on creative or grinding on Prison if they get bored they can treat the mute like a ban and go onto another server
It won't be a 7 day mute, the rule change there is set in stone. I have to agree long term mutes are not an efficient punishment. It is first of all easy to evade a mute and odd to allow someone to play but not chat for 7 days, while I understand your reasoning. It's also not just 7 days. It is 7-14 days based on severity and number of offenses. The rule was changed for users were getting far too long of a ban for saying something that shouldn't warrant a month ban, or saying it jokingly. Death wishes/threats that are actually serious and said graphically or extremely rude will still get you banned for a long time (2 weeks). I believe the time is much more fitting and is definitely an improvement for the past flaw of users being banned for too long. To answer your question, yes. The rule for death wishes was changed globally meaning in-game and forums.
