sorry. I really like my privacy. Honestly. I'm a paranoid privacy-freak who think there are lizard-people under the city. No Support.
2 things, even though they are staff, I believe only a select few should be allowed this command. If anything, just the admins and top staff. Secondly, it is possible to get the chatlog without a command (just, it won't show messages that are from players that aren't you) Also, isn't that what /socialspy is for? I'm going neutral for now
Again. I'm a paranoid privacy phreak. Sorry. Triple alliteration. :D Also, yeah. No, I have nothing to hide. It's just I don't like the idea of someone being able to pull my chat log. It just seems to me - scary.
socialspy only let's moderators look at present chat, not chat that was posted a few days ago, per se. And I do think maybe senior mods and above would only be allowed, but I think moderators should also be trusted. Perhaps you have to be a moderator for a month or a week until you can access it? well I mean as long as you don't say anything that you don't want to be read then you should be fine. I do see your input however.
I'm just saying, (and yes, you hit on this a bit), releasing private info to the public could go even to being... illegal.. Even with legalities, you shouldn't have too many people trusted with a permission like this. I'm not saying I don't like this idea, i'm just saying it should be revised a bit, that's all.
But the staff aren't going to do that..? It's not to the public, it's only to the staff in the case that some screenshot could've been forged.
Neutral for now. It does seem like a good idea, but its also a big privacy thing. Maybe only have higher staff able to access as they can be more trusted?
