Hello everyone, today I was sitting and thinking about how we could encourage people to follow the rules, and also encourage the moderators to enforce them a little bit more as well - they already do a pretty good job. Then it came to me, a somewhat good idea! (For once!) x3
Okay you’re going to have to do some imagining, so brace yourselves. >.< Think about a system of points, say everyone started out with zero points - (obviously) - and every time someone reported another player they would gain a certain amount of points. (The amount of
points would vary with the report’s severity) Points like this could also help the owners filter through who would qualify more for moderator. Maybe to qualify for moderator, someone would
have to a certain amount of r-points. (r-points means reporting-points.)
In the time I have spent on Mineverse I have happened to notice that many players are mostly on minecraft for the competition. From my observations Mineverse seems to have the
most competitive players - for a somewhat small server. So this would be a simple way to have a competition out of game that actually helps the server. Mainly bragging rights would be the
reward for points, or as another suggestion *brushes dust off document* There could be in-game rewards for getting to a number of points.
For those of you who have concerns about people who would abuse these privileges, please be aware that some people already abuse the messages on forums as a point system. Plus, any abuses would just be even more encouraged to get reported. :3
If you start to think about it, this would be very similar to the voting process. What I mean by that is: Both reporting and voting help out the server, both of them have rewards - (The rewards
for reporting would be bragging rights, or if they do decide to have actual in-game rewards.)
Back to my other suggestion, if there were in fact in-game rewards, they could come in small fun rewards for getting to a checkpoint of r-points. Examples: Every time you report someone for chat-censor evading, you would get around 25 points - if it’s valid. For blackmail, or threat-like reports, you could get up to 50 points. If you got a video of someone/clear evidence
of someone glitch abusing, you get 75 points, and so on for points. As for the reward checkpoints, they could be something like this - (once again this is a smaller part of my bigger suggestion) - 1st checkpoint - 1,000 r-points would get you a reward like one of the following,
money (<- my least recommended for rewards, as most of you know people already are way to OP), mini-game perks, or even maybe a kit in one of the pvp servers like /kit junior reporter. The
checkpoints would be sort of out-of-game levels.

STOPPING POINT ( this next part is another section of this suggestion it is more of an alternative idea for moderators, but anyone is free to read it :3 ) So as I have noticed, and I’m sure many of you have too, there isn't exactly a very high amount of respect towards staff members. Well these r-points would be a great way - so I’m aware that there have been many suggestions for other staff ranks, but this would be a different
way of doing things. - *my prediction of audience’s reactions: AHH CHANGE NOOO - CHANGE BAD-* Anyways… As I was saying - moderators would have more access to commands based
on the amount of r-points they had, so people have to earn just a little bit more. This trail off section was just a different idea that I had, that I didn’t want to start a new thread for, and the
references of r-points would make it difficult. This would probably level out the respect for moderators, don’t get me wrong I think all moderators should be respected but I’m pretty sure more people would be happy-joy-joy to be respectful to the owners over a moderator.
Also… If you did make it to the end of this, congratulations! I’d also like to thank you for sticking through with all of my over-excessive use of dashes, and parenthesis. (It’s a bad habit xD) Also if you comment support, neutral, or no support it would be awesome if you could give some
reasons on why you agree, are neutral, or disagree. I love to get new insights on things, really expands da knowledge. :p

    Im confused.

So by what I understand. There are R Points that will help determine which moderators are promoted? And there are Reporting Points that go to a certain number (Based on severity) and if it reaches a number the user gets banned?

I'm pretty sure that Mineverse has already implemented this for the most part. In the way of warns. (The Moderator thing with the R-Points was not added.)

When the player reaches 10 warnings they get Tempbanned / Banned.

Sorry, I just don't understand this at all, can you clarify? Neutral.

Sorry it's a bit of a jumbled mess of ideas but basically... Let me use an equation here. Report someone=r-points

If someone can make a summary that'd be wonderful.

what i'm getting at it is this-

one change in game. If you report someone and it is valid, you get points based on how severe the case is. A certain number of points will give you some sort of perk, and this encourages people to do more reports.

Yes that is a way better explanation. I'm so bad at trying to put my ideas into one thing sorry.

Neutral ,I feel this will definitely help determine who is a reputable person and a good candidate for mod, it could also encourage people to report. But becoming a mod is not just based on how many reports you do it's based on other things I feel that is a common myth. I also feel it will over complicate the forums a little and may be hard to implement. It could be implemented through trophy points.
That is correct if a staff member warns/punishes a player sometimes (depending on the severity) a warning point is added. We kinda already have a positive version of this which are trophy points.

To me, it seems like a good idea as long as the rewards aren't too game changing. I'd say vote rewards tbh.
I think it would be easier if the points were smaller though. Something more like 5 points for all mutes/warns and 10 points for all bannable offences. (The amount of r-points you would need for a reward would also obviously be lowered)

It would be somewhat hard to implement though.

So you're saying they don't have to be punished to get report points? What if people think someone hack and they get reported a lot and then they get banned for nothing. Or is that just warnings?

This doesn't seem to make too much sense to me.

Also, like @Sando3 said, it will be hard to implement on to the server.

I agree with some of this ^^^^

    No support for now.

Neutral, very good idea but this means that there will be more reports that get the "Lack of evidence" bruise the staff team are bad at spotting hacks. No offence to them but they are.
