Everyone has off days. Days when you are mad, angry, sad, just pissed. Playing minecraft might be able to help that, but sometimes it can just make it worse. For times where a player is being erratic, maybe not breaking the rules necessarily, but being rude to everyone in chat, over using caps lock, and swearing, they need a break. When people see another player being erratic, most people will try to annoy them and further get a reaction out of them making the person more angry. No one likes to see someone really pissed off and it sure as hell won't get better with people who don't care. My idea is that if a staff member decides that a player is being erratic and needs a break from the server, they should be able to warn them, and if the problem consists, temp ban them for one hour (or so). I feel like that gives the player enough time to think about it and hopefully feel better, or at least decide to not be as erratic on the server anymore. If the problem consists, I'd suggest a 12 hour ban to give the player basically a day to feel better. If you'd like to leave some constructive criticism, feel free to.
well i would say a ban or something would make them even more mad or even throw their pc out the window
Thats not really the concern. The fact that they are making other players annoyed and making the server a worse experience for others in my opinion warrants a tempban.
First, if I was banned for this reason, it would just make me even more angry and I would come back on the server more pissed off than when I left. Also, I'm pretty sure staff are already able to warn and mute players if they are being disrespectful and using lots of caps. And finally, if they do add this or something, the server would probably just become more dead because half the people who play are disrespectful.
They can easily join back in a alt Staff team needs to add Ip-Bans so they cant log in the period of time as you said
This is what staff basically do anyway if a player is being rude and disrespectful they will warn and if it continues they will either be muted or banned depending on the severity.
Luckily we have a command (/ignore) that can prevent players from annoying you. Or you stop giving a flying... ..heck... ( ;) )... about what people tell you. Whether you are annoyed or not, going online and engaging in a conversation with someone whether it's on the internet or a multiplayer game on a public chat channel with players you are or aren't familiar with can have consequences. If Minecraft is someone's way of dealing with their problems they need to find a hobby. I only read half of this because the reset didn't interest me as much. But yeah this all a bit silly.
if they're being rude, that counts as being disrespectful, which as well all know is punishable. What I'm trying to say is that this is already a rule.
Being rude, using excessive caps lock and swearing already lead to warnings and further punishment if needed. If a player is obviously having an off day but isn't breaking the rules, leave them be.
