Homophobic & Racist Filter.

Hey so I wanted to make this thread to discuss something that I see is an issue.

So, lesbian and gay are filtered.
I completely understand why the word gay is filtered because it can be used as a derogatory way.
However why is lesbian filtered?
Lesbian is when two girls have physical and emotional feelings for each other?

I assume gay is filtered because you can accuse someone of being gay or because some people think the actual meaning is an insult.

Well. Notice how a lot of words are filtered?
Porn isn't filtered. But lesbian is.


My question is.
If you're filtering Sex... but you're not filtering porn.... BUT you're filtering lesbian and gay, then what is the problem with lesbian and gay?

The B word. We all know it right? It's filtered. Some people try to bypass it with the 1 as the i.
If you replace the i with a 1 you get the ******

The N word. A not okay word under any circumstances. It's filtered. However when you replace the letter i with a 1, it isn't filtered.

 

It's not really a suggestion but removing this pathetic filter would be nice.

 

I agree. Lesbian doesn't need to be filtered, it's not like "gay", no one uses the word "lesbian" as an insult.

I don't know why that's filtered either, honestly. Even if someone used that as an insult, not really that severe.

"Porn" should be filtered as well. Very accurate concerns. I'm not really worried about censoring words where people use 1 in place of i to bypass the filter, players are usually warned if they bypass the filter.

But, to clarify, the filter when implemented already had a lot of words in the config to automatically be censored. The words like "lesbian" and "homo" I assume were already in there.

Why do you use lesbian as an insult? If you're trying to insult someone you should pick another word. That's just like calling a heterosexual couple an insult. It's literally two girls who have feelings for each other.

 

Omg boi. Gay is when you're homosexual... Doesn't matter if it's a guy or a guy or a girl or a girl or any other combination. Gay = sexually attracted to someone of the same sex.
