It unfortunately is. Eula states that you can charge for single access passes to your servers. It's a tough loophole but it exists. But hey, why actually fix server issues when you can just make some quick money
can we use logic plz 20$? ok listen. lots of people have left the server due to the insane amount of hackers. recently purchased ranks: 10$ 5$ 10$ 30$ 5$ 5$ 5$ 5$ 30$ = 105$ even if the recent purchases were just premium ranks, that's more than 20$ also most people who hack are people who quit. if someone is serious about the server they appeal or wait. lol so basically let's say people quit well the shop is making more money than the unban itself quit -> less donations -> less hackers -> less people's -> useless 20$ perk
Its sad Cyp would go down this road. Its no secret noobcrew aka (" ") aint that bright, but more could have been expected of Cyp. Such a bad call....paid unbans ffs guys
Lol I think Cypriot was more than aware of the EULA. He should've at least checked if what he was implementing was even allowed. Now we're going to get in trouble AGAIN, and we're going to have to contact Mojang, AGAIN.
"The Commercial usage guidelines also state that you may give everyone you charge access to all the Mods that you choose to have on your server, except only in respect of genuine admin tools/mods which should be reserved for administrators. Because of this, you may not sell “unbans”, “unmutes” or similar admin tools for your server for hard currency, regardless of who receives the money."
While I knew this was likely going to be coming to Mineverse, I am both saddened and disgusted that it came to fruition. When I first heard of it, I was shocked, to say the least. Not only is that a slap in the face of all the moderators that work tirelessly to uphold the rules that MV has, but it is a slap in the face to the entire player base that do what they are supposed to do and follows these rules. Now for my adult and mom part. Things like this is what is wrong with so much of the world today. Get punished because you refused to follow the rules? No worries, throw enough (of mommy & daddy's) money at it and the problem will go away. Sadly, had I not left the team 2 months ago, I feel strongly enough about this that it would have pushed me over the edge of having enough. :(
Dyna, I completely agree with you. I was expecting this because donations weren't coming enough for quite a while now, but yet I still felt pretty shocked when it actually came out. Moderators worked so hard to rid the community of toxic players, hackers, and other sorts of rule breakers, and now essentially if you're financially stable/your parents are financially stable, you can essentially go ahead and break the rules and not even care one bit about the possible ban cloud looming over you. Even though this might bring some player population back, and get some "donations" for the server, I do not believe this is a great decision to make... What kind of people are you bringing back to the server? Hackers? Island farmers? Toxic players? :/ Well, I kind of expected this anyway, but still...
I believe you misinterpreted what I said. In no way am I supporting unbans-for-purchase. On the contrary, I think it is ridiculous.
'Measures' refers to the addition of the unbans-for-purchase. EULA > No Kits > No Donations > Server owners earn less money > Implements unbans-for-purchase. Are you answered?
Okay. I take it that you understand what I mean. As you can see, I'm on the 'no supporting' side of this in unban-purchasing implementation, which is, amazingly, your side as well. No need to fuss.
