As many people know, you can now buy unbans for $20. Although at first glance it may seem like a good idea, but when you think more about it, it's not a good move. That's why I am suggesting that we remove the unbans.

First of all, it isn't EULA compliant. I have been on many servers where they have been reported and nearly shut down because of the unbans they had. Seeing as we have just been taken off the blacklist, it's not a smart move to add things like unbans. Just because they took us off the blacklist, doesn't mean they're not watching our every move.

It's a freeway for hackers with money. Mods will have to ban hackers more than once if they just have an easy option to ruin some more games. It's giving us a heavier workload than we already have, which is extremely heavy. And what about perm bans? If you're perm banned, you can just buy an unban to get yourself out.

It's also extremely unfair. Say two people were banned for death wishes. One has money, one doesn't. The first player can cheat out of their ban for money whereas the other play doesn't have that money and has to wait it out. With the new brought unbans, banning is losing it's meaning.

Therefore, I think that unbans are an unfair way of cheating out of your ban, even if it does give the server more money, and will increase the danger of this server being blacklisted again. Please leave your reasons for Support / Neutral / No Support. Thanks :)

MV may be losing it's playerbase and in effect money, but putting this in the store is too last resort.
-Why would people buy unbans when they can just use an alt account from a dedicated site?
-If a hacker were to unban himself, what then for the normal players in a PVP server? Ruining peoples' experiences in PVP servers isn't worth the 20.
-As @Ares_Xena said in Andrew's thread, why pay 20 for an unban on a dying server?
      Support.

This is the equivalent to charging players for access to the server which according to the EULA it's completely compliant.

I don't know about you, but do you think the average 12 year old with aimbot will spend $20 just to get unbanned?

Then limit the player too 1 unban. Theres an option in the shop where if the player buys something like an unban, they can me limited.

All of your points are invalid to an extent.

Oh this is definitely a money grab,

The whole ban system needs a whole revamp. Firstly, bans that used to carry perm bans now only carry 3 days just to appease the donor class. Temp bans are quite B's, as they just promote the usage of alts (which without ip checking will always happen and nothing will ever changes

Also, if we are talking about EULA compliancy, let's talk about the capes that were never refunded. Firstly, it is illegal to sell capes for servers. In effort to not get the server shut down again, they removed capes from the server, causing people who bought them to basically lose their money. This is kind of illegal for something called 'fraud'.

This is a really sad move in terms of trying to make some quick money. Instead of actually improving systems of banning and the anti cheat, ownership would prefer to monitize unbans.

Notch said it himself; only bad server owners will sell unbans. :/

This may be a money whor-ish move by the owners, but it's completely compliant with the eula LMFAO

If you look at the EULA rules, it is not compliant. Therefore, this makes your statement invalid.
