Players are used to say "kill yourself" is a death threat and because of that, they don't bother to tell what "kill yourself" really is (as it's not a death threat)
Saying "Kill yourself in a bathtub full of hamsters" is still not a death threat, it's an declarative sentence.
just dont say "kill yourself" or anything realted to that and you will never get banned for that reason
Sorry, I only read the first sentence. But we're not talking about not getting banned.... for any reason...
Hmm it's not teachically going to kill someone it's a polite way to say stfu when someone's being Anoying- urban dictionary
Personally, I ban for what it is (threat or wish), and I know a lot of other mods do too, regardless of what a player calls it. I agree there's a big difference between the two, but they both result in the same punishment and ban time so it isn't a huge deal in my opinion.
Death threats should definetly remain punishable by 30 days. However, I believe death wishes deserve more lieniancy. There are a few variables we should consider. a) someone telling another to kill themselves will rarely, if ever, result in a suicide. Come on, if you are that unstable, maybe this game isn't fit for you. I wouldn't exactly say mineverse is a kid friendly server all the time. b) When someone says Kys or makes a threat, I believe it can be very easily taken out of context. I have personally had this experience but unlike others, I got unbanned almost immediately. I made the rules a few times and from my POV, the rule needs to be tweaked. It's too crude.
Support, best suggestion i've seen on mineverse thank you for doing this I LOVE YOU BABE. KYS ISNT A DEATH THREAT THANK YOU
Good. The reason they are banned should match the exact offense. I agree, but I'm not talking about changing the ban time. I just want them to correctly name the offense. Thanks.
Well it should go without saying, mods should be using the correct punishment names. It just looks unprofessional and lazy if not.
I agree, but sometimes they don't. This can be detected because the evidence doesn't connect to the title of the report.
