Punishment for Combat-Logging

SkyWars can be a fun game. The nature of the games as well as the rewards are enough for some to come back. However, killing somebody may be an onerous task. It is for this reason as to why combat-logging may be vexatious. When I knock people off of their bridges, they often log off before landing in the void to avoid giving rewards to the player. It is time for this server to stop acquiescing to this behavior and set a rule against it. I suggest that we as a community punish this behavior. Players stand to lose money when their opponents refuse to play fairly and let the better man reap the rewards that come with their opponent's ineptitude.

If you are wondering what punishment should be set, I suggest a week-long ban. However, this is completely up to the discretion of staff if they decide to implement a new rule punishing this.

The reason I made this thread was because I didn't it mentioned in the server rules. I assumed that combat-logging was allowed.

 

Combat logging is a 3 day ban already. The rules you linked are an old version.

 

Not really great idea. Sorry but there already is a punishment (dying, losing game and 3 day ban punishment). This plus isn't that important, it's combat logging. Not that big of a deal. Plus when you leave for combat logging in skywars, that increases your chance of winning the match (-1 player in the match). Other than this I'm going to give you a -1

 

The first thing I saw when I googled "Mineverse server rules" was that thread. Perhaps it should be deleted so that other, more relevant threads show up.

The part of your post pertaining to the idea of your chances of winning and instances of combat-logging make no sense. If I hit somebody with a snowball and knock them off their bridge, it is inevitable that they will fall into the Void and die if they don't cheat. This means that logging off does not increase your chances of winning. However, players get a pecuniary reward for killing people and knocking them off a bridge with a snowball or egg is one way to earn such a reward. Logging off prevents players from earning money for killing people, and this is the main issue I am raising. I and others stand to not gain money that we would have earned otherwise for making fair kills.

If the issue of combat-logging pertains to people logging off before being consumed by the Void, then I guess this thread is no longer useful.
