No Support, reasons stated above. I don't think Cyp would accept this suggestion, he saw that 10, 11, 12 year old mods can be more mature than some older persons
I forgot @reborn and @Rakion too I was wondering where you went until I clicked the previous names tab :P
No support Yes there are certain issues on the internet that younger people may not have the emotional capability to deal with. Ignorance protects these young people sometimes, but not always. The attitude "I know that" can be deadly online. However, exceptions do exist for younger moderators, but there are reasons why the internet doesn't have age restrictions. These exceptions are rare, like an 11 or 12 year old showing maturity beyond their years, or perhaps 20 year olds acting like toddlers. The phrase "you act like a child" really doesn't make sense. Children can be mature and can have intelligence.
Neutral. I think there should be a minimum age but not 13. I think 8 should be the minimum. There has been a 9 year old mod and he was great. (not sure if he was actually 9 but I was told he/she was) It's not discrimination or prejudice. There are minimum ages for 99.99% of jobs. Just like the retirement age.
You are right. All mods should be above 80 years old because they will have experience with life. 103% mispelled suport.
No support. Okay, first of all, I get your idea. In general, the lower age you are, the less mature you are (in general). However, staff members like Blue and Max... You can't deny that they are young, and even younger when they were first promoted, but their maturity level can at most times match, or even surpass older Moderators/members of the community. I personally don't think I was a bad Moderator, and I wasn't something like 18 to be considered mature, did I? Regardless, I still get your point, and it was worth a stand.
Going to add onto this: if a person isn't capable of the rank they simply won't get it. Simple as that. Being a moderator is stressful sometimes, yeah, and I bet plenty moderators over 14 have gotten upset or stressed while moderating. I can also assure you that there are people on the internet who are over 14 and act like half their age. As a moderator on Mineverse's sister server, and I tend to deal with people who are actually older than me. Still don't see the point in this suggestion. I'm sure staff on here have better ways of selecting worthy applicants and if they aren't mature or can't easily keep their cool they just won't get it. Age shouldn't be the reason a possibly great applicant doesn't get mod.
No support, Anna stated my reasons pretty well. If you're not capable of handling a rank, you won't get it, and if you do, you'll lose it. I've seen some people under 14 who were way mature than people over the age. Age shouldn't limit anything.
No support - if a person isn't qualified for the position or able to handle it they simply won't be promoted. An age requirement only prevents great candidates from getting promoted, nothing more.
