I'm pretty sure you won't be getting DDoSed.

It would affect him, unless he has botnets or a booter on an off-site server or sommin.
But honestly, I doubt he'd use botnets to attack you, meaning he would suffer badly from the attack too. I think it will most likely be temporary network issues you're facing, try troubleshoot for lag and internet speed issues, see if that helps. If you were being DDoSed, you wouldn't be able to post this thread most likely.

In the event of an actual DDoS attack you should:

• Contact your ISP
  • Ask them to change your IP, or make it 'dynamic'
  • Your phone lines will still work, VOIP obviously won't
• Unplug your router and modem etc
  • This should not only prevent damage but;
  • perhaps refresh your IP if you have a dynamic IP
• Use a VPN service

If you're unsure of whether you're actually being attacked or not, you could always use something like Cain to monitor your incoming traffic, and see if there is anything suspicious (a lot of incoming packets from the same location over and over, it will quite literally 'flood' the traffic monitor). Alternatively, I'm pretty sure a certain Shark (can't say) is capable of reading any UDP messages that come with the attack, I know one common UDP message by default in a booter is 'U dun goofed', so... If you do know how to monitor your traffic, and you see that, then the kid attacking you will be caught pretty quick.

Yeah, that's a possibility. But still, it's unlikely someone is willing to sacrifice their time and own resources on DoSing someone. Unless they have slaves or something... But even if they did have botnets, he must have done something pretty serious to be attacked by botnets ://
