If you try to use an already taken name, it'll say something like 'This name is already in use" -So there won't be impersonation problems. You can use /seen or /realname (player's nick) to find out who they really are. -No problem on knowing who is who. Players with a nick have " ~ " infront of their name -You'll know if that player has a nick or not. If you go to report with a screenshot, simply take two pictures, one of them breaking a rule, and the other of their real name proof. -Reports won't be affected, as long as they're not cropped or edited. Video reports are simply, just type /realname (nick) during the video. -Video's are just as easy, only one command needed. In order to make sure this cannot be abused, some rules and perms need to be set. Here are a few ideas. Cooldown - Somewhere around 5 hours to 1 day. Possibly more. Special Mod perms - Give mod perms to change players nick. A command to disable the viewing of nicks would also help prevent abuse. /togglenick Rules - New Rules will need to be added. Here are some ideas 1: Do not use a nick similar to a mod's username 2. No inappropriate nick names. 3. Insert other rule here ;) Only for high ranks. The lower a players rank, the less likely they care to by banned. These are just some ideas. I support this suggestion, I've seen it in many other servers and there aren't any problems.
It's not needed with this kind of server, though. It's a cool perk but this server is so big it'd just get confusing in my opinion, so no support.
Agreed, no support. This can be used for staff impersonation also, causing much chaos and false staff reports could be filed.
