He understands because he actually does pvp, unlike most of the other staff/members that are clueless.
I understand perfectly, I just don't think it's worth the trouble of false bans and waste of time that may incur.
It's a matter of privacy and the complications that could ensue. I can't give solid input since I don't have experience with screen sharing but from what I know of it, it would be too unreliable to use. Perhaps there is some way to perfect the concept so that it would fully work, though the sheer controversy so far over "SSing" leads me to believe that its implementation could be harmful. While screen sharing is a useful tactic in finding out whether someone is hacking or not, it's practically a stop and frisk. Innocent players that are only suspected of hacking could easily be pointlessly stopped to screen share and might even decline, most likely because they don't have the tools required. People shouldn't be forced to screen share either; it should be left to a solid in-game evidence/no evidence basis. The system is based on suspicion alone and I feel that that can cause too many problems. I would think that anyone with a ghost client could easily accept the screen share and get away with it by hiding their clients; the loopholes are inevitable. @Kolos has made numerous other points and I wouldn't disregard them.
You guys take privacy so seriously, you act like you contain nuclear codes. You control the ss in the first place and what you want to show. 100s of servers have this and it's proven to be successful, anyways for the meantime how about all of you no supporters find a better way to catch auto clickers, radar, and ghost clients that are undetectable by video evidence.
Get away with it? Very rare, I could teach the staff team how to use certain programs that look for background processes. This server doesn't screenshare, people just blatantly will chuck a client into their mods folder. Innocent players, from my perspective, laugh at Staff when they are clean. Lets try everything to cleanse the server. Its very hard to hide something running on your Minecraft, maybe an Injection would be difficult, but I can still show you how to find those. Go watch Staff Series of people who SS people. It works. By playing this server, you agree not to hack. If you are, than you have the right to be requested for a screenshare. Why would you deny a screenshare? The possibility of having to leave at that VERY exact moment, would be unlikely. Sure deny an SS, it means your hiding something.
Waste of time? It takes usually less than 10 minutes to find a client. The trouble of those "false bans". You make me laugh Chain. Yeah everytime you get frozen for an SS, your internet goes out, or your computer blows up. Think logically m8. Excuses. "I GOT A WEDDING TO GO TO!". Than why are you on a block-game? Aren't you supposed to get ready? Make a commitment to spend an extra 10 minutes to find real evidence of someone cheating. At least this could get rid of some cheaters a lot easier. Its better than what we have now. If this doesn't come through, than nothing will change.
I definitely support this idea, Mineverse has too many ghost hackers on here, and screensharing is the best way to catch if done right and I'm confident @samuelgamer123 can teach a few members of staff how to do this properly. If this gets implemented, the possibility for screensharing should be put in the rules so people who play Mineverse should understand that they have the possibility to be screenshared. If you don't want that to happen, simply don't hack or don't play on the server, its as simple as that. I also believe that logging out should equal a ban with the chance to appeal because of what I stated above, and being proven innocent isn't that hard. This method is not 100% fool-proof, however it is significantly better than any other method.
I like how all the people in the PvP community are supporting this. All the no-support's are people who are inactive on Kit/OP. This could link into Xrayer's on other gamemodes as well.
The original staff team is too lazy to do this. And cyp is too lazy to manage another branch of staff. no support
No support. A better way would just be to add /v. Or even get them to just 1v1 the moderator, and if they lose they get banned (or something along those lines, someone good at creative stuff help!) , so since they are dependent on hacks, they would have to use them.
