No support easily manipulated. have you seen how naive our community is? /seen and /whois won't help. Younger players will still fall for it
Neutral, the name change can get confusing and it will all just be a mess. Color codes for your own ign sounds like a better idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Eh, I play on multiple servers who use /nickname and there's no problems.. As long as there's a ~ symbol in front of player's names, and nicknames can be disabled if you wish, it won't cause any problems.. But eh, it's not really needed :P Mineverse has bigger things to deal with *cough cough opfactions and opprison cough* ;)
If a nickname system should be implemented, it should be like on Skyblock.net(cyp and noob's other server), where only donors equivalent to MVP+ can nickname themselves and only donors equivalent to God and Titan can have colors in their ign. I am neutral... /nickname could be abused, but then again it's not abused on skyblock.net, so why so sure that it will on mineverse?
Neutral. Seems like a good idea, but this server is very large for a command like this. What if they're hacking and the player try's to report them but doesn't put in their real name (and doesn't see the "nickname" tag). This would still be cool on creative.
Sounds like a interesting idea. I recall having this on a small horror RPG server awhile ago and it was pretty fun having a nick of your own besides your IGN. While you could argue /nick could be abused by say trolls acting as a certain person, the easiest way to tell if they aren't staff is the color of the name. As we know, mods have a different colored name tag from players. Its easy to tell the difference from a player pretending to be a mod versus a actual mod from their name tags. Then there's the whole, /whois and /seen commands to tell if a person is actually online. Of course we could just add a rule to prevent the whole thing saying, "You can't /nick yourself as a staff member to lessen the amount of trolls. Pretty simple to get banned that way as well for staff impersonations. You could argue this is a very bad idea for the community we have, but with the right rules and commands we could easily tame the majority of trolls in the community that would use /nick for staff impersonations. Anyone who doesn't support this is most likely not looking at it from the angle I am or I'm just missing something. Either way, its a good idea and I support it.
