I never really thought of this. I'm going to go with support as it is the easiest way to post farm. There needs to be SOME kind of validation of the support/no support post. But I do believe that since this is going to be easily broken by nature of people, something needs to be put in place to encourage the player not to do while still not being aggressive. Maybe something like a verbal warning for the first infraction, second verbal warning (verbal warnings done through PM of player and staff) for second infraction, physical warning points for a third infraction (Low level points of course), and then from there the staff can mute and ban as needed. Not sure if it'll work, but this suggestion is definitely worth a try

      I agree.
I think it's usefull to explain why you support someone or not, but it shouldn't become a thing you have to do.

      Bump
I dont think you understand... eg. Bob says "no support" without reason. He should just have used the no support rating. Now instead, Bob rates no support. The writer of the thread will get a notification and can ask Bob either in Pm or thread etc for a reason. He can say he doesn't have one or "reason stated already", or he can actually give a legit reason.

So...I'm not suggesting that its compulsory to write an explanation. Just that if you don't have anything to say, don't say anything.

I read the thread too fast i guess :/. My bad for the misunderstanding.
Anyways I'll go with no support. Mods would have a lot of work warning people.

They could always set up a filter and flagging system. (So if its just support or no support it would get marked or something)

So, the reason why we got this post here about no support and support ratings, is because the way you made the original post was a bit grammatically incorrect. I believe from what I read is the suggestion is to warn and/or mute players who simple post comments such as,
      " I support this thread "
      or
      " I don't support this"
Which in reality makes sense considering those particular comments have no constructive criticism and is what the ratings support/no support were built for. I would consider it post farming since we have the ratings installed for you to rate the post rather than fill up the thread with pages of I support/don't support this without any constructive criticism about the thread.

I do support this thread for those reasons.

"we" as in the community. I speak like that sometimes without context, my apologies.

The reason is that people replying helps applicants. Even if they don't state a reason.

How so? Wouldn't rating a post have the same effect as commenting without reason?

It bumps the application, with no replies like that the application would rarely be bumped.
