How you mentioned tinkers construct surprised me, since it's not the type of mod you'd use on a vanilla server. But on the rest I must agree. @Musezeta suggested the use of BetterHUD and many people use Optifine. There are a few different mods that you can also find in Nanuez post, here. this thread will show you what mods are legal and illegal.
I used it personally for a while. It's real easy to use and handle for a new or experienced player. I put tinkers on there as a general mod to use which is fun (because it is quite fun). I'll add illegal mods into the thread!
I am sad that 5zig isn't allowed anymore. With all the mods using forge, you get gap lag, but with 5zig, you don't. So I don't even think about using any other mods anymore. Thanks tho!
