So I see through the grapevine that wither heads have been removed from survival game play? I hadn't found thread dedicated to this problem so I'd thought I open one for the records. Wither heads disappear as soon as I try to place them in world or in a chest. Does anyone know what the deal is? It would be helpful to know if pursuing a beacon is a waste of time. Players were abusing a glitch involving glitching /staff and /friends I believe giving them wither skulls. Simple fix is to just use glass panes rather than something of value. Wither skulls are disabled and I believe player heads are disabled as well for the time being.
